Not what I expected
I purchased this as a gift, and the first time the recipient used it, the plunger part broke. I usually assume Norpro products will be durable, so I was disappointed.

Best ever
This is, by far, the best cookie press I ever used. I've broken or gotten very frustrated with many plastic ones. I love the push down action as opposed to the squeeze action. This is the first press that produced multiple rows of cookies using one press each. Remember, though, that the success of any cookie press depends a lot on the cookie dough used. With the right dough, this press works beautifully.

Inconsistent performance
I like the look of the press. There are a few things I don't like about it. First the lever to change size of cookies it very hard to move and I can see this breaking in time. Second the lever to dispense cookie dough is inconsistent and dough can't be stiff at all or it jump out of the slot. The dough recipe included is too stiff I had to add water to it to make it more pliable. For the money I am a bit disappointed. I did read the reviews and that is why I went with this one. Hope this helps someone else.

Have patience and you won't regret it.
This is the first cookie press I've ever owned, so I had to take a few minutes to get the hang of it, but then I had no problems. I was so eager to use it that I mixed some cookie dough from a box and after letting it rest a little on the fridge to give it some consistency, I managed to make the cookies and they came out just right. I gave it a 4 stars ratting because a small amount of dough manages to go through and get stuck at the end behind the plunger. (If that makes sense). Overall I recommend. (Although I still haven't use it with spritz cookies recipe!) Just take your time on "getting to know it" before actually making the cookies!

At best, all you'll get out of this product is a lesson on what "poor quality" means.
This thing is a serious hunk of junk. There is a VERY weak spring that holds a very poorly engineered/made "catch" against notches in the plunger. When you squeeze the handle, this mechanism is supposed to catch against the notches & push the plunger down. It worked for all of about 15 cookies, then the catch mechanism no longer engaged. When you release the handle, the mechanism is supposed to catch the notches again, allowing you to quickly squeeze the handle to form another cookie. This does not work, either - poor engineering does not let the catch align with the new position of the next notch. I found myself having to push the plunger down manually just a little to allow the catch mechanism to engage. Annoying & defeats the purpose of the automatic nature of the cookie gun. Lastly, because there are no protrusions at the end where the cookies come out (like you see with the old Mirro cookie presses) when you place the unit against the cookie sheet, a seal is created & there is no place for the air that will be displaced by the exiting dough to escape. This is one of the key reasons the catch mechanism fails. In addition, it causes a very large amount of dough to escape behind the plunger. Save yourself the time/effort & frustration & avoid this POORLY made product.

Easy to Use
I was so happy to find a good cookie press. I made my mother's sugar cookies for the first time in years this year and shared them with the children and grandchildren. I am so thankful that it worked well so they could enjoy this yummy goodness.

Cookie press
This looked good online but it’s flimsy and won’t last for making a lot of cookies.

An ok cookie press
This cookie press is alright considering it was so cheap, it does get rusty really easily which is a bummer but some baking soda and peroxide takes it off easily enough. It's easy to use and it comes with great designs. I've used a peanut butter cookie dough recipe in it first and they came out just fine. I might trade up to a better model that won't rust at all but I'll really have to shop around for that.
