Worked for me.

I needed to cut sheet metal for a one-time furnace job. I needed something not too expensive that would help speed up cutting pieces to fit. This did the job. It can be tricky to get it started, but once you get the hang of it, things will go pretty fast. I recommend doing a couple of practice cuts on some scraps until you get the hang of it. I'm satisfied with this purchase and am glad to have it in my kit.

Sharp and fast! Makes cutting metal easy.

This tool made cutting metal for my 76 VW bus effortless. For those pieces that you can’t use a flat shear on this tool gets it done. Cuts quick and clean even through some tight radius’s. Be careful not to get over confident because this tool will eat! Of note you have to have enough of a margin for the tool to work properly. Both guides on either side or the blade have to have a purchase point for the tool to get a clean cut. For the cuts that don’t have that margin you’ll have to use hand shears. Overall great value and much needed if you are cutting a good deal of metal for boy work.

A great professional tool at a great DIY price

The media could not be loaded. We got this to cut pieces of copper flashing (that we found along the road) into squares for mounting house numbers onto. It made nice clean cuts! One word of advice: you definitely need a somewhat professional grade air compressor that continually maintains 90psi or higher. Our compressor is showing its age and couldn’t maintain enough pressure to keep the cutter running. If the pressure drops too low, the metal we were using bent slightly.

Easily cuts flat sheet metal!

You cant beat this tool for the price, it is easy to use and seems well-built as are a few other Neiko Tools I own. I used this item to cut delta rib metal on my shop siding project. It cuts extremely well, but some angles on the ribbed metal are a little difficult to cut through. Still, it works. No different than any other manufacturer's tool, but expect a little difficulty if you are planning to use this for cutting ribbed or corrugated sheet metal. It will slice cleanly through flat sheet metal up to 18 gauge like it is not even there. No word yet on the blade longevity, but for the cost this is a great value.

Works for me

For all the types that are out there, at a wide variety of prices, this was the best price around. Two fixed blades and one active center blade give nice, smooth, almost burr-free, edges. I was not familiar with this type until I used this one. Be aware that, to give that nice clean cut, this shear produces a thin strip of waste between the two halves produced. You need to pay attention to the desired line and which side of that line you wish to use. This is a characteristic of the tool, not a fault or complaint. I arrived at this choice after some research. It compliments my air chisel set nicely. You can't get such a nice fine edge with a chisel. I'm happy and recommend this product.

Awesome for the price

I'm really impressed with this unit, especially at the price point. It obviously can't cut through a traincar, but works well enough to slice through steel roofing like butter. The only downside is there isn't much speed control -- it's pretty much on or off, which can be difficult to work around at the beginning. But overall, it made life a lot easier when we re-roofed our house...!

Good Shears

Works well with 18 gauge aluminum. Sometimes a little tough to get them going but once they do they work great.

Used it 2 times and its dead broken.

I used it twice and the second time it broke. Im an occasional user amd for a 2 time use i strongly advice you stay away. Buy quality brand name tools not made in china.
