Awesome tool.
Craftsman's new owners are really making a point to do well by this old name, after years of degradation. This - and another pneumatic tool I have by them - are particularly fine examples of a premium product. Yes, pneumatics are simple and reliable if cared for; I think it's for that reason that a lot of badge-swap brands always look so rough and basic. This, on the other hand, has an actually well-thought out spindle lock and cage system that shows they are putting some thought into the design; those are far from generic. And I think the very variable speed and reverse knob (that feels quite precise) is something you don't always get in an air tool. But the finishing touch is for sure the rubberized coating - this looks as nice close up as it feels, and although this is mostly aesthetic, it makes the whole tool feel like something to be proud of and something you'll want to take care of and keep forever. And it does the name "Craftsman" justice, which is some of the first good news I've seen out of our corporations in a long time. Although I'd always go for my metal chop saw if it's available, I can get good, straight cuts out of this in EMT and all-thread if I'm being careful. I'm more comfortable with this for this purpose than I am with my angle grinder fitted with a diamond blade. And I've had more accurate cuts than I normally get with a portable bandsaw (but that might be my problem). It doesn't come with a quick-connect fitting, which is fine, but they should have considered packing it with a black one because it would look better than the usual metal-colored ones that most people have. Also, I hate having stamped metal tools for each of my tools, but if they could have found a way to make that stuff ride on board, that would be even better. Regardless, this is a great tool.

Heavy Duty
I have a project that has over seventy five carriage bolts that have to be cut off because the are two inches too long. This cutoff tool is just what’s needed to do this. I was going to have to use a manual hack saw and I wasn’t looking forwards too that at all. This is a solid well made tool that with minimal moving parts is going to last for a very long time. The instructions were informative and easy to read and understand and the pictures helped me immediately with all its functions and safety concerns. The spindle lock will allow me to make very quick changes. I will be using ear protection and definitely eye protection because of the flying sparks the tool is going to generate. I’m satisfied with the quality of this tool with my hands on inspection. I have many Craftsmans tools that are over twenty years old and still going strong so it was a easy choice to chose this cutoff wheel. Four Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

Cuts like butter and less of an air hog over older cuttoff tools
My aging campbell hausfield cutt off tool which has served me well for nearly 2 decades was on its last leg. Despite my best efforts of cleaning and oiling the plastic pieces were becoming brittle and simply breaking. It was time to put her down and replace her with something new. As I dont use a cutoff tool all that often (perhaps once a month or more) I didnt want to spend a cadillac size amount on a new one considering the campbell hausfield one cost only 9 dollars when I bought it and lasted for 20 years. There are lots of off brands of cut off tools (literally hundreds) with odd names that make no sense. Figured Id at least get one whos actual name I could pronounce. Rolled the dice on this craftsman and couldn't be happier. Its built incredibly well and worked flawlessly out of the box. I did add some air oil to it, as you always should especially with a new tool and I was off to the races. Used it for about 3 hours straight and all is well. It has just the right amount of heft to combat hand tiredness and prevent kick backs. The real silver lining here is that it uses significantly less air than my old cutoff tool. My harbor freight compressor struggled with my old one and Id have to pause every so often for it to build back u p pressure. But with this one I never had to stop and wait for more pressure. It literally worked for 3 hours nearly straight use without a hiccup. I would highly suggest paying the extra 3 dollars to get a cutoff tool thats name you can pronounce. Rather than one thats been translated poorly and doesnt make any sense.

Very Nice Air Cutoff Tool
This air cutoff tool seems like it should perform well. It is fairly compact, and weighs what you would expect a cutoff tool to weigh (about 2.25 pounds). The tool does not come with an air coupler, which is standard practice with just about all air tools. This tool has an unloaded rpm of 18,000, which is a bit lower than some, but still respectable. I have not yet used this cutoff tool on a project, but I did run it unloaded. The muffler design results in a significant noise reduction over other air tools that I have owned; it works very well. The tool can be throttled, or spun at different speeds, depending on how far the trigger is pressed. I like the ability to reverse the direction of rotation. This is helpful in throwing sparks in a direction away from the workpiece or anything else you want to avoid having sparks fly onto. I like the feel that the rubber grip gives to the tool. It feels firm in my grasp, and the rubber should help insulate my hand from a cold tool. The cutoff tool has a spindle lock that helps make the cutoff wheel changes easy. There is also an included wrench and hex key that are used for the wheel changes. Since I have not used it yet to actually cut steel, I can not comment on whether it will bog down, but on the surface, I believe that this tool will perform well.
