It was damaged..
I received it nicked up but I needed it right away. I’m trying to get rid of starlings and keep my downy woodpecker around and fed.

Smaller than I thought
I was a bit disappointed when this suet feeder arrived. Although a standard suet cake fits, barely, there is no extra room for any bird to grasp into the wire grate underneath & the ' roof ' isn't hinged, making it a bit difficult to replace suet. Overall construction is good.

No other birds feed upside down
Only woodpeckers can get to it. Awesome

Disappointing
I bought this thinking that only woodpeckers and small birds would be able to do the upside-down feeding. However, grackles and starlings (the birds I was trying to keep away) are too smart and too limber to fool! It seems only Cardinals aren't able to feed from this one.

so much for "5x more durable"
So, it wasn't packed very well but it arrived with the roof split in two. i would attribute the breakage to the horrible packing but on closer inspection, the roof is only held together with tiny little tack nails. I will try to fix it as the wood is not split but it's definitely not as sturdy as it was described.

Not one bird has the brains to find it
Not one bird has been able to find it. I've moved it around to different locations and even put a regular cage suet holder next to it. The cage suet feeder has been emptied but not one peck on the bottom feeder. Save your money.

It’s not the feeder’s fault per se...
A month later, the woodpeckers have NOT figure this out but the darn starlings have... Exactly the OPPOSITE outcome I was hoping for!! If you don’t think a starling will hang upside down and try to devour the suet, think again! I see it happen several times an hour, everyday. smh

Incomplete and unusable product
I sent the product back as it was missing the top covering rendering it unusable
