Perfect replacement on 2014 F-150 Lariat

Motorcraft - Switch Asy - Direct (P) (SW7016) was the perfect replacement on a 2014 F-150 Lariat. Very easy install that took perhaps 10 minutes to complete. Wiper works as designed as well at the windshield washer.

It works to replace th factory unit that died soon after buying the truck.

It works. The factory installed switch didn't for long. Part of the American way, planned obsolescence, constantly failing electronics that need to be replaced to keep a steady flow of revenue to the manufacturers...

I didnt take a chnace on the China switch, my experience says its a 50/50 shot if it works and last more than a few months. It is excevely annoying to have your wiperss running on a sunny day. It took my all of 10 min to replace but i am very mechanical 8 screws in total.

Did not fit my 2016 F-150 XLT. Wrong part. Must inspect prior to ordering to insure correct part

My windshield wipers on my 2016 Ford F-150 would not turn off when the wiper switch was in the off position, they would always be set to the longest delay but were still engaged. I ordered this part to replace the original wiper switch. When I removed the original switch it was immediately obvious that the replacement part wouldn't fit- the mounts are oriented in different directions. Aggravating. It's only a five-minute job to replace this but when you've got the wrong part that doesn't matter much. I tried locating the correct part on Amazon unsuccessfully, so I called up my local Ford dealer's parts department and got the correct part- which in this case is Motorcraft SW-7917-1X I subsequently found it here on Amazon, after spending $51 + tax at the Ford dealer (sigh). https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-SW7917-Switch-Assembly/dp/B071JHH3TX You could go to Ford's OEM parts website https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/shop-parts and enter in your vehicle information (you can enter the VIN for most accurate results). Even doing that shows multiple results in this case. I think the only foolproof way to know which part to order is to physically open up the steering column plastic shroud that covers the switch and remove the switch (or inspect the mounting) to see which style of attachment you have (and which part you will need). Fortunately, it's an easy, quick job- loosen/remove three 5.5mm screws on the underside of the steering column cover, separate the upper and lower halves of the shroud, life the upper shroud to allow access to the switch assembly. You only have to remove two small screws holding the switch in place and you can slide the unit out. If you look at the photos I've included the first two pictures show the SW7016 - you will note that the screw mounting holes are oriented PERPENDICULAR to the green circuit board with the electrical connector. The last two photos show the SW7917 which has the screw mounting holes oriented PARALLEL to the green circuit board. The other thing to note is that the SW7917 has a white plastic arm protruding from the unit which (I believe) shuts off the blinker when the steering wheel is returned to center after a turn. The SW7016 does not have this arm.

2014 F-150, non-auto/sensor wipers. This fits about 3 different years but if you have sensor wipers you need a different part #. Straight forward repair. If you don't have the torques bit, a #2 hex works just as well for the 2 screws. 7/32 socket for the 3 bolts on the bottom of the steering column. Putting the bottom screws back in takes the most amount of time. Once I grabbed a pick, it wasn't a problem. To get the boot around your shifter back on, drop your steeling column down, fit it into the dash side and it will squeeze into the front side, then the top.

This was not the right fit for a 2016 f150 After putting my vehicle information, Amazon confirmed it would work for for my truck but that was not the case. Very similar but would not slide in the sleeve where the switch is positioned. Guess I should’ve taken out broken switch first and analyzed every detail to make sure I was getting the right one.
