The right Transmission screen for my 2005 Ford E450 Chassis with the 5R110W Torqshift transmission
First off, calling this part a Transmission "Filter" is technically incorrect - this is really a transmission "screen". If you look at the Ford parts list, you will see this is actually a screen, and not a filter. Plus, if you take it off your vehicle, or inspect this new part, you will not see any filtering mesh or material anywhere - this part is merely to screen out any large chunks that might find your way into the system. The transmission filter for the Torqshift 5R110W is actually external to the transmission, and is housed in a round canister hanging off one of the transmission cooler lines. This filter is round, and literally looks like a roll of toilet paper... and works with this screen to provide the filtering for the Torqshift. Also note that these screens really don't need to be replaced very often - there is nothing really to go wrong in this part, but since I dropped the pan and had the part I put a new one in anyway. Many think this transmission needs modification to provide good filtering, and that this screen and filter combo is not sufficient. (search the web, lots of articles about it). Many put a Magnafine filter inline with the cooler lines to catch the finer gunk, and then put a deeper pan on the transmission and replace this screen with an actual filter, like many other vehicles have. I will say when I dropped the transmission pan on my vehicle, I was surprised how dirty the fluid was, and how many semi large particles were suspended in the dirty fluid. I can see how some are concerned, and wondering myself how effective this screen combined with the separate filter actually work on this vehicle. Either way, I kept it stock and replaced the stock screen with this one, and it fit right in. THanks for reading.

Fit my 2006 F250 Lariat
Fit just like the original. Filter is not as thick and heavy as the original, but works.

Time to change my fluid
Just what I needed

Great.
The dirty task of installing this in your driveway is not very appealing. Taking everything apart, then finding the part you bought on Amazon was a cheap knock off, and did not fit is a huge pain, and is equally not appealing. But this fit perfectly, and is actually a MoCo product. Installation was simple. Oil the o ring with new transmission fluid, pop it in place, put the pan back on. Done. Very simply, just messy.

My issue with it is that it's just really not a great filter for these 5R110W transmissions which is why Ford ...
Filter arrived quickly and was as described. My issue with it is that it's just really not a great filter for these 5R110W transmissions which is why Ford upgraded to the FT180 filter. If your truck uses this filter, change over to the newer pan they started using in 2008 (I got mine on here for about $70 and it's a direct bolt up change, no modifications required) and use the FT180 filter. Much better filter for these trucks! If you do not want to mess with changing to the new pan/filter, then this is DEFINITELY the filter you want. The Motorcraft filters are by far your best option all around on these SuperDuty trucks!

OEM Parts without dealer mark up
This was an OEM part in Ford packing, not a knock off. Fit perfect and installed easily.

as it is just a fine mesh screen
Unless your transmission fails or has really high mileage, you likely do not need to replace this filter, as it is just a fine mesh screen. The screw on filter in-line is more important as it's actually filtering the transmission fluid. If you do replace this in-pan filter, make sure you remove the old seal from the transmission prior to installing the new filter.

It's a Motorcraft Transmission Filter
It's the OEM version. It goes in the transmission and along with the pan magnet filters the big bits out. I only replace it every other year but do the little exterior fine unit every year. Remember to pull out the O-ring when you remove it, it ALWAY's comes off and get stuck in the housing. A hooked pick and it comes right out. It's a messy job but I have over 550K kms on the truck and never any issue with the transmission. I just do the 8+/- litres of oil in the pan with Mercon LV along the fine filter change and call it good to go. Replacing the whole 16L's of fluid is just overkill in my experience.
