Great feeder, needs improvements
I have replaced all my plastic feeders with this one. First the good: I like the idea of glass for health and sanitary reasons. I replace my food regularly, but with glass I notice the food stays fresher longer than the various plastic containers I used for years. The feeder also is easier to clean due to the design of the feeder. This feeder has not leaked yet for me when all parts are intact, even on the hottest days. This has kept the flower and bottom parts free from mold or other gunk that accumulates with other feeders that leak through the holes. I also have not had a problem with ants, bees, or wasps getting in these feeders (I do use ant traps that use a sticky paste to keep ants from entering from the top, but this feeder also has a huge ant moat you could use if you keep it filled with water). The bad: I dislike the hard brittle plastic used in the bottom part, particularly the clear section. It cracks very easily, and if that happens, your feeder is toast. I wish this plastic were more durable or that you could buy replacement parts. I have had one feeder fall to the ground several times so far. Two times, they landed on the bottom and the clear plastic broke. The glass never broke nor did the red plastic part with the feeder ports. It appears that one of the glass bottles has poor threading that allowed the red screw-on top to slip off in the heat. The first time it fell I assumed we had not screwed on the top well. The second time it fell my husband tightened it and the feeder still fell. The third time I used some plastic between the top part and glass but that time it broke another great bottom. The red tops seem suspect regardless as the plastic ring that the metal holds hangs onto is discoloring on several feeders. I suspect that will be the next issue I will have. I recommend that a different type of plastic is used that is less brittle. Even better, replace the red screw-on top with a galvanized metal band and ring. That may prevent washing the glass in a dishwasher, but at least the feeder would have less chance of falling. I always wash all my feeders by hand and use a weak bleach solution plus soap. I would not recommend anyone putting the plastic parts in a dishwasher due to the heat and caustic soaps used. For now I have retired the glass bottle that seems to slip and of course the two clear bottoms which cracked or broke. I also have as a precaution started putting plastic cling wrap folded in quarters between the tops and the glass bottles just in case the red plastic heats and expands in the sun. So far, so good. Update: The cling wrap did not work well as I had several additional feeders fall to the ground this summer in the intense heat. My husband suggested that we glue the red tops to the glass using food grade silicone glue (available here on Amazon). That did the trick. Although we can’t remove the red tops anymore, I would rather have intact feeders. They are great feeders and stay clean compared to others with plastic feeder ports or bodies, but I recommend gluing the red tops to the glass upon purchase to prevent breakage like mine.

Happy Birds Wish For More Flowers
We have had feeders for many years and have a lot of birds visiting - we go through about a half-gallon a week of food. I really like this feeder as the flowers have a purple silicone center piece that's easily removed and cleaned. Much easier than the all-plastic flowers that always seem to get a ring of mold that can't be cleaned. The only thing that seems like it could be better is if there were more feeding stations. This one has five and seating for like 15 birds - so there's some conflict that isn't necessary. Otherwise it's great - very easy to clean and holds a lot of food.

If your feeders are getting swarmed and overwhelmed? This is the one for you!
We have a very large local hummingbird population and have been using 40 oz feeders for many years. Recently we switched to More Birds Hummingbird 40 oz Feeders because of all the great reviews and because our old favorite brand was no longer measuring up to its original high quality standards. We are in an area with relatively mild year round climate so our little loyal audience of over two hundred birds always needs tending. Needless to say, I have not been disappointed with these new feeders. Pros: 1. The feeders are easy to clean! Unlike our old brand, these new bases disassemble entirely and can be placed in the dishwasher for sterilization in between uses. Mildew/mold is a major problem with feeders and even a small amount can contaminate and eventually doom those birds unfortunate enough to be exposed. Sterilizing the feeders in between uses is a must. We now have a total of eight feeders with four in use and four at the ready. When it's time to switch them out this allows us to take down the four empty feeders and immediately replace them with clean, filled feeders. 2. The feeders are easy to fill! We've been at this for a couple of decades now and have had lots of practice. With the consultation and approval of hummingbird experts we feed a 50/50 ratio of sugar to water. Our four feeders are normally emptied in about 36 hours from the time they're hung. That means that feeders that are easy to fill with a minimum of hassle are very important to us. I use a hand blender (Amazon "Mueller Ultra-Stick") with a whisk attachment that fits neatly into the feeder bottle without danger of breaking the glass (see picture #2). With this tool I am able to add the sugar directly to the bottle in the ration I desire then add water and stir for about thirty seconds. Voila! Ready to go nectar! It takes us less than ten minutes from start to finish to remove the empty feeders and replace them with freshly filled units. 3. The ant mote built in to the top. Although I have not used it, ants and other crawling insects are constantly trying to gain access to nectar and it's great that they have designed a simple feature to help thwart them. We have, instead, used another Amazon product (Tanglefoot Tree Insect Barrier) to coat the nails from which we hang the feeders. Tanglefoot is basically tree sap - very sticky stuff - applied to the nail heads and a bit of shaft from which the feeders hang, it works wonders to keep ants and other crawling insects at bay for months at a time. I have a tub of the stuff I bought nearly twenty years ago that's barely been touched - a little goes a long way. Cons: 1. We have had a couple of problems trying to get stuck bases to unscrew from the feeder bottles. At least one time it took two strong men to get the job done - this, even after soaking the base/feeder in hot water for several minutes. We are trying to avoid a repeat of this issue by not screwing them on too tightly when we assemble them. 2. This one is a yet to be seen problem but the potential is certainly there: The main feeder bottle is made of glass and glass can shatter if dropped on a hard enough surface. The bases are also fairly light weight and I can easily foresee a time when one of them snaps in two if dropped or handled too vigorously. But otherwise? These are five star feeders folks! Get them if you are being swarmed by hordes of little beauties as we are - they will get the job done and then some!

Nice feeder
Very nice feeder, definitely big and easy to clean, and nice that it doesn't leak. Ant moat is pretty big, so drown you darned ants! One criticism though, the base is so transparent, that it almost seems reddish-pink, instead of deep red, but no big deal. Took one star away for the shipping cost being almost same price as the product ($29.00 at the time of purchase + $7.00 shipping, but that being said it WAS very well packaged. I had no doubt they packaged it not to break. Only real beef was the cost of shipping, other than that. I love it. I just hope someday, the Hummingbirds like it too. So far none have come to it (not seller's fault ;) ) Update: Had for 2 years now, still nice, but no hummingbirds :(

Perfect & low maintenance, but was previously used.
The large reservoir makes this a low maintenance feeder. However, mine definitely came used as there was sticky residue all over and a couple dead ants inside the glass jar. The product was fine, it just needed an extra wash.

Overall I am pleased with them
we Have bought three of these and two of them have been awesome! The third has poor threads on the bottom plastic part which makes it difficult to get on and off and if you have arthritis it can be very tough on the hands. Over all the birds love them and they hold a decent volume of solution. I recommend them.

Not leak proof when upright!
Love that it’s glass and the hummingbirds can rest while drinking. Dislike that where they drink comes apart and leaks out juice ????other than that good product
