Work well

I keep claw covers on my cat’s front paws. I’ve tried other brands but they are usually poor quality. I don’t like the glue that comes with Soft paws so I discard it and use Scotch brand gel super glue-much easier to use-my cat and I are both happy

Great with a but.....

I love the idea of Softpaws and it does work great. My cat is one of those abnormally tranquil cats so we have no issues putting them on him. He just sits there and takes it. However, it has not taken away his urge to scratch at the couch amd carpet. So it has come an everyday (yes everyday) to see him clawing at the couch with his caps on and then finding about 3 caps on the already torn up couch fibers. I replace these caps every day. About 1-4 a day. Like I said it's not such a hassle because he's so good but while they are put on correctly, they do come off from the attempted scratch session. Also, we had a little scary experience where he was again trying to scratch another couch (whis is why this bad kitty got capped) he got tangled from his soft claw. The threads from the couch cover were tangled right above the cap so where the nail begins. He was getting frantic and crazy but calmed down as soon as we noticed and went over to help him. We just happened to be home and noticing. If we weren't.. I dont know what may have followed. He was just yanking like any desperate cat may react. Overall, a great solution but just my experience.

Work great for me

I started my kitten off on these right away, so he has always been great letting me handle his paws, puts up barely any fight for me, he will get squirmy after a bit. I did make mistakes at first, I would clip his nails to short, instead of just the tip, But I think they last me about 3-4 weeks, some more than others, I try to be good about just replacing them as they fall off, but sometimes the simplest tasks, are so hard to stop and just do, so right now I believe he is missing 4, he is wearing the green and red ones for xmas, he is in a size medium and he is a 6 month old kitten, weighing 9 pounds, Next I will be ordering the large size, I always make sure someone hold him for 5 minutes after applying the nails, and most definitely the next morning one is always missing, but I still think they are great, and I would much rather use them than declaw, which I do find inhumane.

Working for us so far

Working very well and it's been 10 days. Two came off after first day but it's my first try so not bad. We put them on Again after couple days. My husband and I had to do this together, we prepped the ten nails with glue first, he held cat by scruff and I applied the tips. Cat wasn't happy during this procedure but it beats what was coming next - declaw. So far these prevent further damage to our furniture. He still sharpens his claws on his scratch posts and pads, or tries to shall I say...... They don't seem to bug him at all for the most part. Occasionally he starts to chew on his toes and l yell at him but this doesn't happen much. He walked and acted normal immediately after applied. I say worth a try in lieu of a) ruined furniture or b) cruel declaw.

The world is no longer his scratching post

A kitten was dumped at our house in the middle of the night, and I began to worry for our leather sofa, our upholstered chairs, and carpets. These are easy to put on, and yes, they do require some replacement when your cat sheds its claws, or repeatedly tries to claw at hard objects (he fancies aquarium bottoms). There aren't enough application tips, but if you put glue in, and gently squeeze the tip and wait for the air bubbles to rise and pop, it isn't an issue. Yes, there have been times when the nail has grown out, and the kitten gets stuck in our afghan, but he can either get himself out, or we do. I know, some people find this inhumane, but it's better than declawing, and provides peace of mind. He doesn't mind them going on, or having them on, and application is simple.

Perfect to prevent clawing on furniture, carpet and people.

My kitten was ruining my furniture. He has sharp claws that I kept trimmed, but it wasn't helping. He also clawed me accidentally in play or when seeing some string hanging off some article of clothing. The caps were easy to put on my cat and he didn't mind one bit. He likes to be held, so this was just more love time for him. He tried to bite them off a few times, but the glue is strong. The only challenge I had, was when they eventually did come off, it happened like 1-2 a day or every other day, so I had to check daily and replace the ones that had come off. These are a great product.

50% success in my household

Arrived quickly and exactly as described. I should have read more reviews as you only have to trim off the point of the nail. These need nail to get a firm grip. My one cat is very calm and laid back with them but my other cat is frantically trying to chew them off, even now. The chewer is also the one who got them put on first and I cut her nails a little too short for proper application. Maybe the next go round will be better for her, but the first cat seems oblivious to them. Thus 50% success.

First Day

I just put these on my cat today, so granted, things could change. However, so far I am in love with this product and have no complaints! I wrapped my kitty in a towel and took one paw out at a time. I trimmed his nails a couple of days before. Also, I put the glue in all of the caps before hand. He hated the process but put up with me putting on the caps. They do not bother him at all! He doesn't notice them one bit! I thought he would be chewing at them and going crazy, but he is oblivious. They were easy to put on and hopefully they stay on! My carpet is finally safe from his little claws!
