Nice heavy duty

Very nice heavy duty umbrella stand. We needed a heavy stand that could withstand coastal winds and this does the trick of not having the umbrella go sliding around the deck. Mind you we don't keep the umbrella (sold separately) open when it's really windy but a lightweight one still takes off.

Must have if using half moon umbrella

This is a must have to go with the half moon umbrella. I was using a standard round stand but it defeats the purpose of the half moon allowing you to be flush against the house. We put them flush to the sliding yard doors where all the sun gets in. For added stability, we are in a high wind zone, my husband hung a small hook on the house and used a small bungee cord to wrap around the pole and put on the hook. Keeps the sun out of the great room tremendously. And it looks wonderful flush against the house.

Nice for the price

Please note the additional height of the base plus holding tube. I had to remove several inches from the umbrella to make it fit under the covered patio. Not the mfg fault, just be sure to check the measurements.

Great idea, saved me a lot of money.

Love this! What a great invention. I had planned to put up a retractable awning on my back deck along with vertical blinds. My neighbor bought this stand along with the umbrella and I had to try it out. I put it up and now have no need to block my view with verticals or spend the money on a retractable awning. Does a great job blocking the afternoon sun and keeps my kitchen cooler.

WORKS GREAT

I PURCHAED THIS FOR A HALF WALL UMBRELLA FOR MY PATIO, IT WORKS GREAT, DOESTN TAKE UP A LOT OF ROOM AND IS NOT BULKY SO FAR SO GOOD.

HEAVY

I know it says 20 pounds but man this sucker was hard to maneuver around our balcony trying to get it in the best spot. Had a couple of windstorms come through and it's still standing!

Needs a little help on windy days

I like that it looks nice, is decorative unlike the plastic ones that you have to fill with sand. I love that you don’t have to fill it with sand. I don’t like that it doesn’t place the umbrella flat against the wall. There’s a gap between the umbrella’s straight side and the wall it is against, and it has actually tipped over one windy day and the umbrella landed on the lawn one floor below. If you are on a second floor or higher I would recommend that you secure the umbrella pole against the wall for extra security. But I still like the product overall

Just not heavy enough

Using it with trademarks 1/2 umbrella. It's just to lightweight especially given its 1/2 circle design. Every second day I would come out and the umbrella has fallen down. Some little amount of damage every time. Just can't recommend this base for anything. Even the smallest wind knocks it over. Thrown it out now and purchased a 29lb curcular base which had not fallen over once.

Love it. Quality isn't fantastic

I purchased the 1/2 umbrella from Trademark and this stand. Love it. Quality isn't fantastic, but these items weren't priced on the high side. Even so they are great looking It looks great on my patio behind my little settee that sits against a fence. No issues with the Trademark 1/2 umbrella fitting in this stand. Went together easily.
