3 out of 4 ain't bad- but not perfect

I had ordered two sets (four lights in each set) to go on my deck railing. They were very easy to install (unlike some others-wont mention any names). The first week I put them up, they worked GREAT. So, I ordered another set. But, after that 2 of them (1 from each set) stopped working. It could not of been the location, because they worked at first. But, I thought lets try something. So, I unscrewed them, put a new battery in them, and changed their location. NOPE, still not working. The ones that are working, give off a nice cool white look. I'm planning on contacting vendor to get replaced. Hopefully, that will work well.

Nice!

This is my second set of these lights. I liked them so much at my back door that I bought a set for the front door. I discovered that it is best to place the lights on the kick-board part of the steps as opposed to the flat walking surface of the steps as pictured in the illustrations. It keeps people from accidentally stepping on the lights themselves..The screws that come with the lights are too short but that was easily solved. The lights give off just enough light to serve the purpose especially when you use all 4 of them as opposed to just using a couple for a set of steps.

These lights are very good to light steps. However, the battery only lasts for one year. Once you screw them to the deck, you’ll need to unscrew them to replace battery. If the screws rust, you will have a hard time removing the light. I suggest changing to a 5 year battery when you receive them...or remove the tiny screws inside the light so you can acces the battery while still on the deck.

Decent set of solar lights. - Update: WASTE OF MONEY

These lights are not very bright which to me is a good thing. I just bought another set of 4 because the first 4 dont make enough light for my needs but I am still happy with them. Its just I had to space them closer together than I thought so thats why I am buying another set. One thing is that one of the lights didnt work when I got it. I could see through the clear plastic that one of the battery temrinals had come lose in shipping. I removed the clear cover and put the terminal back in place and it works perfect now. Some people would have had to return it for this reason. UPDATE 10/1/15: None of these work anymore. They only lasted a few months. Complete waste of money. I originally thought they would be perfect and even bought second set. I would never buy again.

Cheap and basic but functional

These things are made very cheaply but work. The LEDs are not bright at all but they are OK as accent lights or to light up dark steps a little bit. I dropped two of them accidentally and the solar cells fell right out (they are held together with a small amount of hot glue), but the light kept working afterwards. Given how cheap they are I think I can recommend them. The rechargeable batteries inside are Ni-MH. It remains to be seen how long they will last.

One fell apart when it came out of the box.

As soon as I took it out of the box I noticed one of the lights was broken. The solar panel had come loose from the frame. I thought maybe growing it back into place would work, but after charging it in the sun for a full day it didn't come on. Later I noticed that it was coming on, but it was only coming on when the sun was hitting the solar panel, so by the time it got dark it'd alreadyused up the full charge. The other three were working, but now I'm down to two functioning lights. I really like the light that they give off, and I almost bought the second box of these but I think I'm going to try to find something else to meet my needs.

When they work, they work well

Ordered 6 packs for my deck. Out of the 24 total light units, 10-12 were falling apart out of the box: the solar panel piece had become unglued. I was able to glue them back down and fix them, but still ended up with 4 that didn't work. Luckily I was able to swap them out. The ones that do work are great and really light up my deck stairs/railings.

Don't Last!

These were beautiful at first. Two leds instead of just one. Pure white light, but they don't last. One of the leds went out on one. One unit stopped altogether, just after just a couple of months. The screws are too short to grab the wood if it isn't perfect and hard. No rubber plugs for the screw holes. A disappointment for the money. Not like the ones before we got from Home Depot that lasted until the batteries died. They definitely could be better. Maybe you will have better luck.

Good product but check batteries upon delivery

So far these lights are great. They do light up nicely but you would need lots of them if you are trying to illuminate the whole backward. They are design only to give small amount of light. On another note when you get your package check the batteries. They should all have a small piece of paper, that is there so the batteries don't get bad. In my case one of those batteries leaked and I only noticed after months of them being in the house and waiting for the snow to go away. It has been almost one year since I received these lights but only since April 2015 that I have been using them. Now we are in July 2015 and out of 8 lights only 2 of them does not work and 2 of them will last about 5 hours, the other are out of energy in about 2 hours. One of them I had to change the battery in it.

Nice Unit as Advertised - Fast Delivery

They came in 3 days which was good service as a lot of this type of unit comes direct from China, but this was dispatched by Amazon. The box was a lot smaller than I expected, but it was the clever way they were packed. They were a little smaller than I expected, but they work very well. I screwed them to the dock where I moor my boat, and they provide a welcome guide when coming back in after dark. The images show the light on the back of the boat and across the front of the dock. The give off a bright, white clear light, and comes on at dusk. Can't grumble for the minimal cost.

Great light for highlighting a step or edge

Needed something to highlight a deck transition. Have 4 units and they are perfect.

Half my lights which is 4 don’t work
