This is a good light without electricity power.
We Love this light that work on 4 C batteries. We recently moved and the house didn't have any light at the front porch and it was not working for me. I then bought this light and problem solved! I don't know how long the batteries will last but it has a motion sensor and only goes on for movement. It is very precise for motion also. I would recommend this light to anyone without ac power. Very Nice!!
These are good looking and work very well! We got them for the front porch of our rental triplex. They look beautiful! And for such a good price too!! We have them set on the lowest setting and they still light up the porch very nicely! Review update 02/06/2017 I've had these for a few months and have had to change the batteries THREE TIMES since I installed them. Of course what's happening is that the sensor is crazy sensitive and goes off at the slightest provocation (cars driving by or people walking pass the house, etc). Here's my solution: get some black nail polish and paint/cover the sensor until enough of it is covered so that it only triggers when you wish it to. Just be sure to take your time. You don't want to stop the sensor from working totally. I ended up covering about 95% of the sensor. The lights work like a charm now! Love them!! I'll update later if the battery replacement schedule doesn't improve. I think it will:). Update (12/10/2020): These lights are awesome! I’m here to buy more of these for another rental and totally forgot that I wrote this review so long ago! Yes, these lights are STILL going strong after all this time. I’ve taken to subscribing to C batteries every 3 months on Amazon and replacing the batteries in each of the lamps even though they’re still working. It’s been my experience that the batteries last about 3.5 - 4 months before they need replacing. Of course the lamps are out of stock now but I’m hoping that they come back so that I can purchase more. Can’t recommend these highly enough!!

Great product and value
I needed outdoor lights ( outside of my garage door on either side) and did not want to have to get an electrician to do wiring, so I found these. I gave them a try and they are spectacular! Even on the 50% light setting, lights are bright and they are motion sensored which is awesome! No more worrying about a light switch! I will add that in beginning, I had to change the batteries after only a month, but I discovered that it was because the sensor is very sensitive and it clicks on even when a car goes by. (my driveway is about 20 feet long). I am going to either use some dark nail polish or duct tape to 'shield' a portion of the sensor surface to lessen the sensor so it is not coming on with driveby cars, but only when I drive into my garage or when someone is walking towards the garage. Other than that, I love these lights and will be buying another set for my shed in my backyard!

Updated Review
I've been told putting in wired lighting would be incredibly expensive as my house is about 90+ years old. I weighed the options with solar vs battery-operated. Solar is sketchy because of the weather so I chose the battery-operated route. I've had these for about a year. They are pretty and I have not had any issues with its design; however, they no longer work. I have changed the batteries out several times and still nothing. I'm not a handy person so I'll have to get someone to take them down for me so I can check them over. Not sure if water has gotten into it or something, but I'm extremely disappointed since I really do need light on my front step. 15 Dec 2014: I contacted the original manufacturer of this product and he recommended checking the battery compartment to ensure it closes tightly because it may have a tendancy not to. I did what he said and even pushed down really hard on the battery casing cover. They lit up! No problems since I did this on 12 Dec. Hopefully this won't be an issue in the future. I'm glad I didn't give up on them.

Excellent lamp for situations where hard wiring is not feasible
Very pleased with the lamp, so much so that I ordered a second one. The lamp was very easy to install - 2 screws in the siding and 2 bolts to attach the lamp to the base. While not as fancy as some of the lamps requiring electrical wiring, the lamp is attractive and looks good on my Victorian house. Of course, the huge advantage is that it's battery operated so no new wiring required. One thing I really love is that the lamp is not just motion sensitive, but heat sensitive. This means that my house flag blowing in the wind doesn't trigger it to turn on, but animals or people walking on the porch do. It provides quite a bit of light - I was able to see well enough to use a saw to cut some boards one night using just the light from this lamp, and I had it set on the lower output setting. I really like the sense of security I now have coming home or walking outside after dark - no more wild animal surprises.

I was glad to see that the sensor worked when opening the ...
I invested in this product as I was told by an electrician that installing a light in the front of my home would go into an expense. I installed one of these units on the right hand side of the front door for lighting the step area when leaving and approaching the door. I was glad to see that the sensor worked when opening the front door as well as when approaching the front door from about 10 ft. I've also noticed that the street traffic (albeit a fairly quiet street) triggers the sensor which is a much further distance from the front area. I had read reviews about disappointment with the amount of light produced and I find this true. It seems when the light is on it covers more of the left side which is not the side that the door opens. So I'm assuming that if I moved the current fixture to the opposite side or purchased a second lamp that it would provide more lighting for the front steps. This fixture will suffice for the time being.

It's bright lighting!
Very bright! Easy to install and nice looking! I bought this one used and it works great so far. I need to buy another for the other side of my front door. Update: The light comes on as I approach my house and gives me ample time to park, fiddle with my keys and get in. Iam impressed! It's been several weeks and going strong...fingers crossed! This light is still rocking !!! 4/8/20

Waste of time.
It doesn’t work, put the batteries in and it cambob to as it says it will to show it’s working. But after the initial test no amount of motion will activate it. Also I had hoped there would’ve an optional “0n” switch to leave it if desired. There is no “on” or “off”.
