Good Quality
Heavier than I expected and takes some getting used to.

Lasted 2 years in commercial bakery
It lasted 2 years in my commercial bakery. Not bad for $30. Im buying another now. Just wish it had ball bearings instead of just supports. I bet it'd last forever with the proper ball bearings

All that's missing is a stand for it
This is a thing of beauty. Stainless handles, stainless pin, near perfect welds, looks to be even a stainless rod inside. There is a sound inside, which I believe is some sort of grain, that is used to give it some 3 lb 10 oz weight. A lot of rolling pins state nylon bearing or ball bearing and I find that is incorrect. This states nylon bearing but I think it is just a nylon bushing. My rolling pin journey began when I wanted to replace a cheap dollar store plastic rolling pin. I wanted to avoid wood rolling pins because I took one look around my kitchen, and I have no wooden tool that looked like new throughout the years. Marble was the first type I looked at and I couldn't find a marble pin that I was happy with, either the surface had imperfections I could not ignore or the drilling of the hole through the marble pin was off center. I finally found this stainless steel pin and an aluminum pin that is larger. I am currently happy with both. Ditch the branch...
This rolling pin is amazing!! I'm sure it will outlive me. I used to use an old hand-me-down wooden rolling pin that my mother passed to me. I was always so frustrated with dough sticking to the wooden one that I thought there must be something better out there. So my search began... my first thought was to get a marble pin ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000VLPAS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01 ) which I researched and ordered. BAADDDD mistake... I think you have a 80% chance of getting on that's been drilled crooked and that's exactly what I got!! So disappointing!! Anyways I returned that pin and did more research and discovered this stainless rolling pin. It's great... put it in the freezer before rolling out pie crusts and this bad boy keeps your dough cool and doesn't stick at all. I can't even believe what a difference it makes over a wooden one. I only wish I had given up my sentimentality sooner and diched the rolling branch sooner. Happy rolling!!

It rolls just as good if not better than it did when we first ...
I bought this to use in my pizza place. It gets used constantly and it is still wonderful-well as long as I can keep everyone from submersing it. It has been dropped multiple times and has a couple of small dings. I thought my staff had broken it when I was off for 2-3 days. It wouldn't roll, you could force it but it wouldn't roll out dough on its own. I got desperate to get it working because I knew I could get another one, but it wouldn't be here for several days. I began to think that maybe the had submerged it one too many times and there was no oil in it to lubricate so I poured a little mineral oil in both ends let it sit for a minute and manually rolled it. Let me just say Success! It rolls just as good if not better than it did when we first got it.

Like it so far. It is quite HEAVY, but that's a good thing too.
Have only used it a few times: Like the extra weight to press down on the dough, like the finish-easy to clean, no worries about water-logged wood/oiling wood, bearings seem to be smooth and roll well, like the size of the barrel and plenty of room on the handles-length and width. I would say the only drawback could be the weight. This thing is HEAVY and I would not recommend it to a little old lady or someone with muscle weaknesses. The weight, of course, is part of the design, but know that it is likely much heavier than your normal rolling pin.

I'd only change one thing...okay, two.
This looks great. No doubt about it. It rolls smoothly and has large enough handles to feel stable and secure. Two things I wish it had: 1) a hook or a stand. There is no way to securely store this. 2) a way to put cold water or ice inside the roller. I have had two rolling pins that had this, and it made working with crusts and fondant far easier (but, that being said, those were not made as sturdily and hence, my purchase of this one). I suppose I could store it in the refrigerator when using--I haven't had a chance to try that, but I will. It looks fantastic, and is a "nice" tool for the kitchen. :)

So not the normal usage for this
Ok, I purchased this not for baking, but for my monthly massages. My therapist made a joke about how having a rolling pin would be easier to roll out my glutes, so I said I would bring my rolling pin in. Then decided I didn't want to use a wooden one, hello...no splinters wanted there, so I found this one online. I have to say that was one of the best massages I have had from her. No crying, cursing, begging, using safe words, or tapping out. Plus this was so easy to clean when I got home. So happy with this purchase!
