Poor design.
This rolling pin was clumsy and awkward to use. It was heavier than I expected, and I struggled to roll out my dough evenly. It is very difficult to wash - the roller part isn't completely sealed to the handles (this is so it call roll across the dough, I guess) which means that if you leave it to soak in water, liquid will fall into the gaps and then collect inside the roller. Once this liquid collects, it is very very difficult to remove. I noticed this had happened to my roller when I noticed a disgusting orange liquid was coming out of the edges whilst I was rolling my dough. Suffice to say, my pastry was ruined and I fear, so is my rolling pin. Take care when washing this product. Also, because the roller and the handles aren't sealed together, the roller makes a lot of noisy clanking noises when being used. I find that the handles seem to jiggle back and forwards when I am rolling my pastry out, which also makes this product annoying to use.

It's a rolling pin
This is a wonderful purchase for the price. Only thing I'd suggest is to not let it bang around inside your utensil drawer for fear of messing up the surface. It feels solid and rolls smooth.

Excelent alternative to wood pins
Properly used and cared for this rolling pin is an excellent alternative to traditional, wooden ones. I use mine primarily to make flat breads and focaccia. Sometimes I make the dough from scratch and when I am pressed for time I purchase pre-made dough from a bakery. In each instance this is truly a non-stick pin. Do note that I coat my pin with olive oil, which is an integral part of the recipes for the baking I do. At any rate, any pin will need - at the least - flour, as will the rolling surface for the dough. That's just baking 101. As for cleaning: this was not designed to be submerged in a sink or, worse, placed in a dishwasher. A wipe over the surface, ends and handles with a wet cloth and a few drops of anti-bacterial dish detergent, followed by a wipe down with a damp, detergent-free cloth and then a quick going over with a dry cloth takes less than a minute. I cannot count the number of times that I've used this pin, but suffice to say that it's in the hundreds. It is easy to use, rolls smoothly and can roll out a thin dough with little effort. It's also sturdy. If it broke today I would have gotten my money's worth - and would immediately replace it with the exact model.

Much better than solid wood
Before I used the rolling pin I read the negative reviews and expected questionable results. Happily the results were great. Until purchasing this rolling pin I had only ever used a solid wooden one and therefore my five stars reflect the contrast between these items. This rolling pin did NOT stick to the pizza dough I was rolling out. I did follow the recommendation to chill before use and stuck it in the freezer for ten minutes before I began and will continue to do that. As pizza dough is among the stickiest things I ever roll I don't expect to be adding to this review to temper its positive tone. As to the other reviews: Why would anyone soak their rolling pin? First of all, this one did not have anything stuck to it, so there was no need to do more than give it a rinse with hot water. I was careful not to get water into the rolling portion, though I doubt doing so would cause harm, but I wanted to prevent water retention and its later distribution as one reviewer experienced. Secondly, soaking a rolling pin that does have dough of any kind stuck to it only makes the dough harder to remove and leaves a mess in the sink and sink strainer. If this happens one would be well advised to scrape off the dough and wash immediately. Had the description of this rolling pin said only that it was 20" long I would have deducted one star for the rolling area is only 12" and that is not really wide enough, but it serves nevertheless. This information is available on Amazon, however, but not on the item's box. I would buy one with a wider rolling area were such to become available. Just noticed: It says on the box not to immerse the rolling pin in water!

Non-Stick Rolling Pin
I really like the feel of this rolling pin. It cools quickly and it does not stick as much as ordinary wooden rollers. So, if you have wrist problems this will be a bit more comfortable. It rolls rather smoothly, and it requires less effort and strength. However, nothing is completely non-stick. You will have to flour the roller just as you would a conventional roller. If you like, you can add a bit of olive oil or butter and it will not stick to anything. I also like the chic design of this rolling pin. It's certainly not your Grandma's rolling pin. It also looks good as a decorative kitchen item or kitchen tool for display.

Yucky Orange Goop
I second the first reviewer! The exact same thing happened to me! Yucky orange goop all over my cookie dough!
