Magformers stole the show.

This little kit was one of the big hits of Christmas. "Let's build my car. Can we build my car? Lets make a different car!" was heard for days until my 3 year old figured out how to build them on his own. Also I LOVE the directions the Magformers brands put in the boxes - they are an actual little booklet that you can save that shows you several configurations you can make with your pieces. Magnatiles give a one page idea sheet and that's it. I went into Christmas this year expecting to love Magnatiles and be hohum about Magformers and the Magformers really stole the show. The pieces are easier for a 3 year old to grab, the items he builds are strong enough to handle being carried from table to floor or vice versa as long as he isn't really rough, and there is decent piece variety but not so much he was overwhelmed. If I had it to do over I would skip the Tegu blocks and the magnatiles and get only Magformers. I can't wait until his birthday to get him the giant ones!

LOVE the Magformer toys!

I love these toys. Even though the magformers are expensive, they are well worth it as they will last forever. My sons 1 and 4 LOVE these toys and play with them daily. Yes DAILY. We have had one set since last Christmas (almost a year) and I ordered this set in July to join it and it is just as good as the first one. Between the two sets they keep coming up with new stuff to build. (I will say they played with the first set by itself every day and they still came up with a ton of stuff--now it is just double the fun) Would I like to have more? Of course but given the cost we have to buy them in chunks. Don't get me wrong one set is enough to have fun with and the wheels and hexagons are a big hit and in almost every creation that they make. So if you had to pick just one set I would say this is a good one to go with. The best part is that they are magnets (so they are learning magnetic properties) and they are safe --which many magnets are not because they are so small they pose choking hazards...these do not.

a year after purchase

I bought Magformers more than a year ago. Mainly for the eldest son (5 years old) This is actually my first Magformers set so I can not compare it with other Magformers sets. But I would like to note that this toy has become one of the favorite toys not only my son, but my daughter (2 years). This year my children don't lost any !!! details on this set and retained package where each time put all its elements. (In the picture how it looks now) I also noticed that this toy develops creativity and gives the opportunity to my child to become a true inventor. I often join the game and get great pleasure to play with them. As for the problems, as I said I did not have occasion to try different Magformers sets so I can not comment on the views of many people who wrote feedback about quality of elements of this Magformers set compare with other. But I noticed that price of the Magformers is not low. As the conclusion today after a year of use of the toys I can recommend this toy.

Great investment!!!!!

This is a great investment for kids of all ages. We recently rented a vacation home and the family had this exact set in the kids' bedroom. My almost 3 year old son is really interested in them. He doesn't "get" how to build quite yet, but will easily grow into them. My 8 year old daughter and 39 year old (heehee ... husband!) had a lot of fun seeing all the different types of vehicles they could build with these. They also built some building structures. We purchased these while still on vacation to save for our son's birthday and they had arrived the day we got home. WTG Amazon! 2 day shipping ended up taking only 1 day. Our daughter was so into playing with these, that we let them start playing with them yesterday. I am sure we will add on later so they have even more pieces. I think the set it adequate but I imagine how much further their imaginations will stretch with more pieces. A good investment for a building toy. Our older daughter with Down Syndrome seemed intrigued by the magnetic workings of the pieces also.

Fun Creative Toy for Many Ages

Big hit with my 5-year old grand-nephew. I had to take it out of the box because it wouldn't fit in my suitcase so I was worried that he wouldn't "get it" but he was quite captivated for an extended period. His father seemed to enjoy it too! It was fun watching the two of them create and then seeing the little one explore on his own. I had gotten a similar set (without the wheels) for my elderly father who suffered from Alzheimer's and he enjoyed it as well. This appears to be a nice, durable creative and fun toy for many ages. I do wish it had come with a bag to store the pieces although they do stick together nicely.

My boys love them!

Except for the extra charge for them being shipped from Germany, even though they were sold on Amazon UK, I'm perfectly pleased with this toy! Boy my 5 and 2 year old love building with this magnetic toy. Educational, creative.. and hard to find!

Magformers are super fun

My grandkids 21 months & 4 both love Magformers. One of the best creative building toys ever made. Magnetic edges make it easy for even very young kids to invent new ways to play with this toy.

Great mathmatical toy as well as present! Costs a little bit more than the usual toy for children but gives hours of pleasure plus is pretty indestructible! Great for ages 4yrs to 12yrs! Made of excellent quality material.
