Pro Tip - Close the Lock When You're Not Using It

Seriously. All these reviews saying, " My lock reset itself," are a result of people not paying attention to what they're doing. Listen. You open the lock using 0000. Rotate 90 degrees. Push down on the lock. While pushing down, set your new combination. Close the lock. While keeping the lock closed, rotate the dials and scramble your code. It's now locked. You wanna keep this from resetting itself? Don't set it down while it's unlocked. Simple. Lock it when you're using it, lock it when you're not. Take it out of your gym bag, open the lock, put it on your gym locker, close the lock, and go pump iron. Come back to your locker, open the lock, open your locker, close the lock, and put the closed lock back in your gym bag. Problem solved.

Excellent locks

I love these locks. We have had one outdoors for many years for our garden gate, so I bought a couple more for our electrical panels. Just need to lubricate them every few years if used outdoors. I also have the numerical version that I use for the gym.

This is a simple adjustable lock stop.

If you need a simple programable lock that will keep honest people honest then this is a good buy. this can be opened with little force. but for a simple lock its perfect.

Effective and easy to use.

This lock was extremely easy to set up and use. It allows you to set your own 4-digit lock which can easily be changed at any time. I like that it is secure and quicker to use than dial locks. I use it every day to lock my belongings in a locker at the gym and so far haven’t had any problems! would highly recommend!

Easy for kids to use

These locks are working great for our students. They were having problems w/the regular padlocks & these make it so much easier for them to open their lockers, thus alleviating teachers/staff from having to assist them. Also, super fast delivery.

Mixed feelings

Great lock, but it has flaws. As others indicated, the combination may change if you do not lock it while not in use. Happened to me twice already. Had to destroy the first lock, and got luck with the combination on the second incident. Make sure to LOCK the lock when not in use.

Worked for about 6 months

I purchased this for my son's gym locker at school. He liked being able to create his own combination. It worked well for the first six months of school and now it's completely jammed. The number wheels won't turn and the locking mechanism won't budge. So, for the price, I guess it's ok if you only need it for a temporary solution. I need one which will last longer than a few months, so I'm going to have to spend more money this go around.

Decent lock

It's not a super high quality lock and I use it for my gym locker but it wouldn't be great for anything else really. I find it a bit hard to read the letters under the glare of the light in my gym which is a little annoying. But it's easy to set and there's lots of possible easy word combos. Decent for the price.

Junk

Ordering I knew this wouldn't be an "un-crackable" lock, however it's worse than anticipated. The steel locking clasp when locked only extends into the lock body by about 1/8" which seems pretty shallow. Additionally I didn't pay close enough attention to realize it's letters, *not* numbers on then combination. My mistake, which is worse because every tumbler only has a certain amount of letters so spelling a combination you want isn't really possible. My final gripe is the way you re-set the combination. I'm using this with a wire rope to lock up my dirtbike quickly. I picked this lock as it's lightweight to put in my small backpack, knowing it's not a heavy duty guaranteed for life padlock but will keep opportunists at bay. I locked my dirtbike in the back of my truck the night before heading out dirtbiking. When I went to un-lock it at the trail after driving for 2.5 hours, my combination didn't work! I tried it multiple times with the same result. I was going to break the lock or cut the wire but started to mess around with combinations. I could feel resistance with some wheels then they would be "easier" to turn while pulling on the steel clasp. After a few minutes I was shocked and happy as the lock opened! I looked at the combination and it wasn't even close to what I had set it to. The only explanation I have is that when I locked it the night before I must have accidentally put the lock into the reset mode and changed the combination. I only use the lock once or twice a month. If you have to pay that close attention to avoid my mistake then I don't want to use it. Also maybe I was lucky, but if I was able to "crack" the code that easy, whats even the point? Using the lock a few times, I'm not going to use it again for anything due to my last experience.

Durable but mine was defective

The lock is small, light and compact. Very durable. The issue is that the numbers had to be lined up perfectly or it wouldnt open. Last week, I had to get it cut because it stopped opening up while I was at the gym. I hope master lock can rectify this.

Pretty good, light-duty padlock

I have several of these locks that I set up with the identical combination. I used a four-letter-word (not vulgar), which I find much easier to remember than numbers. The padlocks are installed on gates and sheds around my property. They work reasonably well if you keep the internal guts lubricated. They are fairly light-duty; I suspect that someone could easily break in using a large screwdriver. However, they should at least slow the thieves down, which hasn’t been a problem to date. After several years of use, one of these locks just stopped working and wouldn’t open one day. I’ve read reviews that say they occasionally just don’t work with the set combination. I just cut it off and installed a new one. For about $10, I figured a cost of about $1 per year is reasonable. A decent lock that’s convenient to use. Regards, Mark

Feels slightly flimsy

I like the concept of the product - but to lock it, and line it back up properly, it feels like it doesn’t click into place. Works perfectly fine - just wish it had a satisfying “click”
