Great for general purpose

EASILY lifts water 8' through a 50' garden hose. Quality build. No issues.

Excellent utility pump for its intended purpose

Pump is well priced for its function. Our most recent use was last night, after getting approx. 6" of rain in two parts within 5 days of each other. Our house has a below-ground stairwell that leads into a basement door. When we get significant rain such as this recent double hit, the drain systems are overwhelmed and the stairwell becomes a mini-swimming pool, with water rising to the level of the door and enters into the house. Our remedy? Liberty Pumps 260 to the rescue. We place the pump outside the door over the drain, with a 30' garden hose attached to the outlet and stretched out into the back yard. Plug it in and watch the water quickly drained out of the stairwell through the hose into the back yard. Of course, the stairwell rapidly fills up again during such a storm, so come back in 30 minutes and repeat as often as needed. We have had other similar pumps, and this one is the best of the bunch. It is the only one that starts to pump almost immediately when placed into the pool of water, without all the fussing the other pumps require to get the pump primed and the water pumping, including setting the pump on its side to release air bubbles. This pump's design, for whatever reason, requires no fussing. Plug n' pump. Done. Only held back 1 star because it could be made even more convenient if it had an on/off switch inline with the power cord, instead of having to plug and unplug the power cord for on/off control. In fairness, none of the other brands we have tried have on/off controls, either. Such a control near the plug would further distinquish this little guy from the pack.

Pump is Perfect for Descaling Tankless Hot Water Heaters

I used this pump to clean my tankless hot water heater. Worked perfectly. I put a bucket on the floor, which is 4 1/2 foot below the water heater. I then connected two 6 foot, 1/2 inch ID hoses, unplugged the water heater, closed off the water heater valves from the house water supply and the house, opened the valves to the hoses, poured in 1 1/2 gallons of straight white vinegar, and plugged in the pump. The pump had to deal with the 4 1/2 rise to the water heater, but it provided the perfect flow. I ran it for 45 minutes and you could see the cloudiness in the vinegar solution which was the deposits it flushed from the water heater. When done, I flushed clean water through the water heater using the pump, Then I turned all the valves back to the way their were and plugged in the water heater; done. By the way, when I was done, I flushed the pump until I could no longer smell vinegar (it took 4 fresh water flushes). It would be my recommendation that you would not want to leave any vinegar (which is an acid) in the pump as it couldn't be good for the pump to store it this way. Very simple process, and you can find the instructions on-line if doubt.

Excellent and Quite Useful

I purchased this product to use in descaling our Navien On Demand home water heater. I followed YouTube video instructions, using white vinegar (from Sam's Club) and it worked absolutely great! We also have a NuCamp (T@B) teardrop camper trailer (Wetbath...fully loaded) and often camp by creeks and small lakes in New Mexico and Colorado. We're going to use the pump to top off our water supply from these water sources as needed. (We use bottled water for cooking, coffee and drinking.) This Liberty Pump 260 is a very useful item for annual hot water heater descaling and off-grid water top offs out in the boonies.

Excellent pump.

I bought and used this pump to flush 2 tankless water heaters in my house. The built quality is excellent and you immediately realize you have a high quality product. They are very quiet, don't heat up and works very smoothly. I ran them to circulate vinegar and then fresh water in heaters for about 4 hours in total. My heaters work great after the flushing. I'm looking forward to next year to flush them again with the liberty pump. It already paid off its price several times over.

Works great, but...

this product is excellent. however, i'm rating it only 4 stars for the delivery. i selected this product seller based on the delivery time. i needed it as soon as possible. it was delayed several days beyond the expected/due date. other than that, it works well.

Works great to flush on demand hot water heater.

2nd one. The first one died after being used 3-4 times/year for various things. We failed to flush the vinegar out completely after doing the hot water heater. Our fault. Works great.

Powerful pump

I bought this to use to descale my tankless water heater. It works as it should. I ran it for about an hour and the white vinegar I was using had turned blue. I know it cleaned the tankless heater. Then I used the vinegar on several of the fire ant hills around the yard. When finished, I filled my five gallon bucket to the top with clean water and placed the pump in the water to flush the vinegar out. I was surprised at the amount of water this pump moves!! It pumps a five gallon bucket empty in about 30 seconds or so. I ran about 3, 5 gallon bucket fulls of water through the pump to be sure vinegar was removed from the pump. Very happy with the purchase.

Quiet

I used this pump to descale my tankless hot water heater. It seems to be very well built and worth the investment. Buying a quality pump and building my own kit using a 5 gallon pail and washer hoses to do this simple job will save lots of money, long term.

Great pump, still going even after abusing it.

This pump is awesome. I have used it to pump water out of my hot tub and pool and to my chagrin forgotten it at least a few times. I've left it sucking air for hours and it has not burned out. If it ever does die I will definitely look for another liberty pump to replace it.
