Not a fan of sand
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

Incredible!
My older cat pees *a lot*, and all the clay litters we tried were not absorbing the urine, let alone any odors. Every time I cleaned the box, I had to scrape paste-like litter from the sides and bottom of the tray, which would then would fall apart and slide through the scoop, making it impossible to fully clear from the tray without doing a whole litter change. The smell was horrible, both ammonia and poo. Eww. I was skeptical of this letter, but willing to try anything after three years of nasty litter boxes. This product was incredible! I’ve been using it a week now, scooping every other day, and there is *no odor*! All the urine is tightly clumped and easy to scoop. It is surprisingly lightweight, and sifts so much easier than traditional litter. I also love how clean the tray looks. I’m already recommending this to my friends. I’m not sure how well this work if you use liners. A few urine clumps have stuck to the sides of the tray, but I can easily push them loose and scoop up (clumps don’t break apart). I don’t know if a liner would release these edge clumps as easily.

Does not clump, absorbs pretty well
I bought this to mix with another silica cat litter that my cystitis cat needs to use since it was less expensive. It absorbs pretty well, but it does take some time for it to absorb liquid all the way. It does not clump at all, so cleaning it is kind of a pain. I ended up using a child's sand shovel to get out the used silica. Trying to use the regular litter scoop, it just ran straight through and was spread in with the clean sand. Because of cystitis, I need to have the litter as clean as possible so I can monitor his usage and how much he's going, so this made it more inconvenient. The scent is okay, it's not strong or flowery or anything offputting. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again, but it works okay.

effective but dusty
So I have found my cats (and I have 5!) prefer crystal litter of various kinds... The sandier the better. Darn prima donnas and their tender paws. Was using Pretty Kitty, which I liked but is not cheap, especially when you have 5. So was running through a lot of other options. The big name brands were ok but chunkier. Soooo, long story short, I tried Ultra, and the cats seem to like it. It does adsorb pretty well, and has some longevity in it's life. However, scooping does churn up a LOT of dust. That makes me a little wary for my cats and my sake but it does seem to work pretty well.

Pretty good for less expensive crystal litter
I’ve been trying several types of crystal litter. The first I tried was bigger crystals than this and my cat showed signs of hating how it feels on his feet and tracked. A one month supply lasted 2 weeks max. Then tried pretty litter and it was wonderful and he liked the smaller crystal size. Didn’t track and no dust. But it costed 2.5 times what the other one did AND a one month supply again lasted only 2 weeks. Now I’ve tried this one and while the crystals are smaller like pretty litter, they track the worst of all of them. Pretty littler didn’t track much. However this litter did cost half what pretty litter costs. As far as scent, I can smell the litter more than either of the other 2 but it’s not overmuch. As far as smell neither of these 3 are near as bad as the best clay litter I’ve used. Overall it’s a step above middle ground and would be better except the tracking. It sticks to paws like crazy and has ended up all over the house, everywhere kitty goes. It’s the worst about it and for me, means I won’t be using it any more - and yes I do use a good litter mat.

Great
I will never buy clay litter again. When the crystal litter came out, I rolled my eyes and thought "Great, more **** for us to waste money on." But I'm in a position where I can't scoop my box as easily as I used to, so I bought one of the fancy self-cleaning boxes. And you have to use the crystals. I'm not paying $30+ for litter a month, so I tried this after the free stuff that came with the new box. First of all, litter tracks. Period. Using a litter mat helps, but you're still going to be sweeping. This is a finer grain, so it doesn't hurt your feet (and probably not kitty's feet, either) when stepping on it, and it feels like it doesn't track as much to me. No smell for the full month. Two cats used it, I just added to it. Did the stirring, no smell. JOY!! And no complaints from picky cats! Absorbed what it was supposed to. Very happy with this product. No dust, no smell, I can breathe again!

Cheap, but demanding.
Not the best, but if you’ve got the time to keep up with the mess it makes, maybe an okay option. I’ve been using this litter about a year now. Cat tracks this stuff all over the house. Everywhere the cat goes for about 10 minutes after using. Scoopable, but urine is finicky. If the wee is still soft, it will just dissolve when you try to scoop, mixing into the litter and tinting it yellow and yuck. Odor control is far above any clay litters I’ve used. Not a perfect 10, but about twice as good as the best clay types.
