Sturdy

I am very happy with this purchase. It seems well made and sturdy. I have used it daily for a few months for my dog, who is 51 pounds. It has also seemed to hold up well to our crazy Michigan weather!

Perfect length

This was the perfect length to take the dog to the backyard, no fence here at my apartment. It keeps him in range. Due to his 70 pound weight, it is strong and durable.

10 foot cable tie out

10 foot cable tie out is he used to teach the dog to be tied out quietly under supervision. I don’t advocate keeping dogs chained or cabled but it is a good teaching tool. I keep one in the car for emergencies in case the car breaks down I would have a place to safely tether a dog under supervision.

A lifesaver for two dogs without a fenced backyard!

I have two 4 month old puppies and I unfortunately don't have a fenced in back yard yet. My guys are about 40 pounds, but will likely get up to about 100 when full grown. I bought two of these to replace some thinner diameter leads I bought at a brick and mortar store. The old leads constantly tangled up with each other, and started to look like a retro phone cord, often causing my boys to trip on them. I was constantly wading into the fray, trying to make sure neither of them got hurt. These leads are a lifesaver! I bought the 30 foot leads in silver for dogs up to 250 pounds after doing a lot of comparison shopping, not wanting to get another coiled up mess. I wish I had gotten these ages ago! The lead is well constructed in such a way to avoid getting kinks or tangled together. It is much better quality for the price than what I was seeing at the pet store for $30 dollars. My boys can easy wrassle and play with each other without the leads coiling around their legs and tripping them. I would highly recommend this for people with two dogs. I can tell my guys are appreciating the difference too, because they are playing longer and not being jerked around the neck when they get to the end. And, I like the unobtrusive silver color for the hundreds of puppy pics I've been posting to Instagram! One word of warning. I unfortunately got caught between the leads when my dogs saw a neighbor and got excited. The lead took the skin right off one of my legs, but this is wholly a human error from not paying attention. Just be careful! Because these aren't tangling around my boys, they haven't caused any rubbing or other similar issues with them, though! If there ever comes a time where I need to replace the leads, I'll will repurchase these. Great value for the price, extremely well constructed, and safe for my boys!

Very Thin

I purchased this product to replace one I had bought at the pet store about a year ago. Same brand, but this is not the heavy duty one that I had before. This cable is very thin and makes me nervous that it may not be strong enough for my active Husky. I could be wrong, but we'll see how long it lasts.

Clips not Bronze but a good cable... Edited, not good cable actually after time testing

Although this cable is protected by a plastic sheath, the clips are not. This shouldn't really be an issue owing to the metal the clips are made from being Bronze and Bronze doesn't rust. We bought two and clipped them together for additional length and this works well. Unfortunately after perhaps three months the clips are now rusted quite badly and opening and closing them is a bit harder. We did oil them but when metal containing iron is exposed to the elements daily it will rust... I know what you're thinking, Bronze doesn't contain iron though...? Well, these clips are rusting merrily and seeing as Bronze does not rust (it oxidises for those of you who are interested) I think it safe to say that these clips are NOT made from Bronze as stated. This product is not a complete write off but I do have to replace what is arguably an equally important part of the product in order to continue to get use from it. The cable itself is very good and when I replace these clips I have no doubt that this will last years...The cable is very strong and well wrapped in plastic, shielding not only the cable from the elements but also protecting anything that the metal cable will be repeatedly pulled against by our canine friend. So from a potential five star cable I'll remove two stars, one for the false advertising of Bronze being used and one for the clips that need replacing. I was going to take three stars away (one for each clip) but I feel I should grant a one star reprieve to allow for the price in the interest of fairness. A final rating of Three stars for this product. Edit: The cable has now sheared through after nowhere near long enough to be acceptable so I've down rated this to a two star product. Although it is quite cheap, this is not acceptable, what if I hadn't realised the cable had broken and our dog had run off to get hit by traffic? Not good enough but did last a few months so I suppose I can't give it one star as it's not completely useless...

Don't waste your money

I have a border collie dog who is around 20kgs. I have used tie out cables before but he is so strong that after a while they have broken. So this time I order a heavy duty one. Since I started using this one he has been off at least four times. We live on a farm so when he gets off in the garden he can get through the hedge into open fields and eventually onto the road which is where we found him today. The tie out cable is not broken but we presume that the clip which fastens onto his collar must open when he pulls. This item is not reliable and is therefore not safe to use. Absolute rubbish. Don't waste your money!!!!

Great Buy!

2nd One I have purchased.Great buy. Cable is solid and will hold a lot more weight than stated. My Malamute is 70kg and it's holding him just fine and still looks like new after a couple of months use!

Useful for dogs who stray

I have a Beagle puppy who will stray and not come bacj. This cable with a metal spike has withstood her chewing and enabled her to go into the front garden when I am working out there with no fear of her running off.
