I love this

I bought this to have a good thumbwheel ratchet for my household repairs, computer builds, bicycle work, and auto repair. This tool has a smooth and fine ratcheting mechanism. I would say it's about 60 tooth, which makes it great for precise work. The reversing switch is low profile, and it stays in place when I use it. I like how I can get lots of torque around the trilobular design of this ratchet. And crucially, it is MADE IN THE USA! Way to go on making this product in the USA. By the way, this is not my only tool from Lang tools. They make some great products here in the USA and at competitive prices. I have some of their ratcheting wrenches, that are working great for me. as well. One nice design aspect of this thumbwheel is its knurled spinner knob on the top of the ratchet. You can use this to spin the bit if you are working in a tight spot where you can't turn your hand. This is one of my favorite ratchets...thank you Lang! I like how this set includes a square adapter so that I can use this with 1/4" sockets as well. That's a nice touch for this item. The only tricky part for me was getting the clamshell package open that it came in. I decided to open it carefully and use the case for storage to keep all the parts together. I would definitely recommend this tool for anybody who needs a good quality and versatile tool. Incidentally, this would make a great tool for a teenager who likes building things. I wish I had this when I was 13!

Great tool, questionable storage case

Tool works great. Like most Lang tools it works. I accidentally tore up plastic storage case getting the tool out to use. Lang please send me a new storage case

Tiny and effective

If someone is in need of a 1/4" bit turner to fit a tight space, it doesn't get much more compact than this. Unlike a straight mini-ratchet, this is easier to grip. I can confirm, and my pictures show that there is a magnet at the base of the ratchet. While you can feel the bits snap snugly into place, it's not strong enough to actually send a magnetic pull through a 1" bit; nothing I touched with a bit would exert any kind of pull that I could feel. The ratcheting action seems sturdy, the case it comes in is actually useful for storage, and in general it seems to be a good alternative to just about any stubby screwdriver.

Not reliable

Mine broke after limited light use. Sometimes it ratchets, sometimes it does not.

I really liked the case but it just won't unlock without a fight so it went right into the trash. I really don't need the bits or the extension anyway. The tool itself it really nice, liked the last reviewer said it doesn't get more low profile than this! Leave my stubby bit holder in the truck now as this has a permanent spot in the tool box.

Ratchet switch locked onto the loosen position. Switch gear is not working to

Because the rivet was not set flush with the body of the tool, the switch will not actuate the gear from loosen to tighten.

Quality and US made

Smooth and gets into tight spots. Pair it with low profile ACR bits or grind down normal ones and it'll really shine. It's not an every day tool but it has made certain jobs smoother.
