What a Mess
This thing makes a mess every time you grind coffee. It has worked great for me but the cup the ground coffee goes into is too far from the grinder and coffee gets everywhere. I have to vacuum up around it after each use. Super frustrating given how much this coffee grinder costs.

UPDATE : Great grinder when the hopper is actually working.
I need a new coffee grinder for my French Press. After some review, I purchased this unit because I can measure by cups or by weight. The unit is easy to setup. However, one small annoying issue I found is the hopper has a slit to allow the coffee bean to fall into the grinder, but it jams easily (first photo). I will need to use a small spoon or chopstick to stir the hopper to free up any jams once the beans fall through the slit. The grinder works wonderfully and is much quieter than my old cheap one. The design of the collection bean also minimizes spillage, and I no longer need to use a separate brush to brush the ground to my french press. UPDATE: I got the "Err" message and figured out how to resolve it. You will need to remove the bin, untwist the burning attachment. You should see beans stuck between the gap of the burring enclosure and the housing. Remove all the beans and grounds. I use a brush to clean it up and dump it out. Once that is clean, twist the burning attachment back, and you should be back in business. I own it for two months now, and I need to clean it once a month.

Good idea, cheap execution
I love the idea of a measured out portion that I don't have to measure every day. Set the amount in grams I want, and press go every day. Solid idea. Unfortunately this grinder is a miss. I purchased this in April, 2019, and here in May, 2022 it is being replaced, and I should have done it months ago. The Good: When new, it does what it is supposed to do. I get, eyeballing, the exact same grind amount every day without any measuring or fuss. The Bad: It's extremely noisy, like don't run this while the wife is still in bed noisy even though the bedroom is on another floor. The outer stator burr gear appears to be sintered metal, and after 3 years of roughly 2-3lbs of coffee a month, maybe 100lbs all total run though it, the outer ring bur is completely worn out. It's not even remotely sharp anymore. This can be replaced, for $20 or so. However: The inner rotating gear cannot be replaced, it is press fit on the motor shaft. It's also worn out. It is in slightly better shape, as it appears to be machined and not sintered metal, but you can see in the pictures the edges are blunted and worn. Roughly 100lbs of coffee shouldn't wear out the burrs, at least not a machined one. This metal is SOFT. The wipers that sweep the grounds to the output shoot are worn as well, you can see how much space is now between the wall and the wiper in the pictures. You can even see grooves worn into the metal walls from the grounds. This leaves a LOT of grounds in the grinder, moving or shaking it after use will cover your counter with old grounds. The scale. Man, what a let down. When it works, it's great. When it works. 3 years in getting 8 cups worth of grounds takes a lot of effort. Re-taring the scale, clearing the ever helpful 'ERR' message, and good old timeouts because the burrs are so worn out it just gives up. Getting a pot of coffee worth of grounds takes almost a minute and a half of fiddling with this thing. I'm pretty sure some coffee flakes have found their way into the scale. The hopper. If you like light roasted beans that are nice and dry, it works great. If you like dark roasted oily beans, too bad. They won't feed. They jam up and clog the intake constantly, and if you shake the grinder to loosen them up, you trip the scale into 'ERR'. Fortunately I prefer a light roast so it's not a huge deal to me, but if you like beans with any exterior oil on them be prepared for another daily headache. The output shoot and catch cup. There is a large space between the machine and the catch cup, and grounds will find their way out all over the machine and countertop. It's messy, and it's constant. Overall this grinder was a letdown. It's a good concept, but to do it right this price point is simply too low. Too many corners are cut to hit the price, and it makes this grinder basically disposable after just a couple years at best. It is nice when new, but after 18 months or so if you drink coffee like we do, you'll start to see a noticeable slowdown in performance, and fiddly errors start creeping in on the scale. I don't recommend this grinder.

Best electric grinder I've ever owned - best for the somewhat-snobbish coffee drinker
Hands down my favorite grinder of all time. It uses a conical burr and the motor runs at a lower speed, giving you consistent grounds without shooting the beans around the hopper like popcorn. This also helps it stay pretty quiet compared to other grinders. Lots of different grind settings too give you a huge amount of control over your coffee. One of the best features has to be the dispersal of grounds, though. As long as the container will fit, you can use anything to catch grounds, not just a specific container that the grinder is useless without. This means you can grind right into a basket for drip coffee, a pour over cup like a Hario V60, or into tupperware to take elsewhere. I say this is best for the somewhat-snobbish coffee drinker because they will get the most use out of it. Since the scale allows you to get a specific dose of coffee this makes it much easier to get a great cup of coffee...as long as you know where to go from there. It comes with a Molina-style pour over, re-iterating that if all you want is some coffee to throw in the drip coffeemaker, you're probably paying for stuff you don't need/want. The biggest issue with this grinder, in my book, is the clean-up and the static. After it finishes grinding, there's always a little bit stuck in the dispenser. A couple solid whacks will get it out but that's not the point. And because the main container is plastic, static cling can send grounds all over the place. These are minor complaints and this grinder is FAR from the only one to have them. If you want a quiet coffee grinder that gives you great results, look no further. If you're wanting to take your coffee game up a notch, this is a great grinder for that. But if you just want something that grinds beans so you can you make coffee without any thought, fuss, or muss, I think you'd be better with something else with fewer features. Side note, the first one I bought had an issue with the hopper/motor. Amazon got it replaced in 2 days with one that works 100%.

Incorrect voltage for Australia
I was just delivered a grinder with US voltage rather than Australian despite this being sold within Australia. Very disappointed and wonder how this is even allowed. The voltage was not stated on the product description.

I used grains other than coffee to grind and it can get stuck in the machine
Stick to coffee beans do not use to grind nuts, as it will get stuck

A great automatic burr grinder for the price.
For this price, a burr grinder with a scale is a great value. As some other reviews indicate, it doesn't do great with coarser grinds, but it's good for pour over and finer grinds. The scale can sometimes be finicky and I've felt like it was innaccurate at times, but the times I've double checked with a kitchen scale, it's been within a gram or two.

Fantastic!
Great coffee grinder! My only complaint is that it's very loud... Buy hey it's a grinder after all. The grind is consistent and the scale is a valuable feature since coffee beans moisture, hardness and oil content can be variable from batch to batch weight is a great way to stay consistent! Vote Helpful!
