Excellent product but one minor flaw
Excellent alternative to wax seal. Easy to use. The only thing I had a problem with was with the flange bolts that came with the kit. As I was tightening the nut it the bolt popped out of the flange. I have a cast brass flange and thought it had broken but it was because of the new bolt being too small. The old bolts were 3/16th but the new ones were 1/4”. The smaller diameter let bolts shift sideways and pop out. I had to reuse the old ones and all went well. Maybe Korky should supply both sizes in the kit.

Easy to adjust toilet position when installing
This makes a toilet installation very easy: unlike a classic sticky wax seal, one can fine-tune the position of the toilet to be square and true including small rotations and adjustments of position. Then it seals. Perfect for this DIYer who does not install toilets every week (or even year).

Honestly, I haven't installed it yet
My wax ring failed and was leaking from the base of the toilet. After purchasing a similar product for another toilet, I wondered why does everyone not use these? Why the same antiquated wax ring that's been around 100 years? It took me three tries to set the toilet down on the mark. With wax, that would have been 2 trashed rings. Three years later and another toilet has the same problem, only now the wonderful new technology I used in the repair has shown its weaknesses. Those rings are beginning to fail after 3 months. More time researching lead me to this Korky model. The design is completely different, and the materials used "should" not suffer the same failure, at least not any time soon. I would expect 10 years before this begins to show signs of breakdown. I would not expect failure for perhaps another 10 years. Now we're into wax territory and I can still reposition the toilet if needed when seating it. Now that we have the replacement parts, it's time to get our hands dirty and dig our fingers into this nasty job. Step one, rubber gloves! Step two, pull the toilet. The water is off, the tank is drained. The fill line is disconnected, and the flange nuts have been removed. I have plastic bags down. Now a little lift here, make that a little lift there. Perhaps if I try to rock it side to side a little. Well, it seems either the home builder or a previous owner glued this toilet down. Perhaps a lever here, and something to act as a fulcrum there and I can pry... That's obviously not gonna work. Maybe I can dig a little under... Maybe if I... Okay, I have another idea. A nice heavy bead of caulk completely around the base. DONE! The thinking here is, even if the cavity under the toilet were to fill with water, there is only one place for it to go, down the drain. A leak test says this toilet is sealed. Let's try one more trick, I placed a space heater blowing on the toilet for about 15 minutes. The porcelain is hot. By now the wax should have melted, flowed down the neck of the toilet, and pooled around the flange, hopefully creating a new seal. The next day I noticed the sewer smell is gone. The room is fresh and clean. The "facilities" have been used multiple times daily for months now, and not a drop has leaked. The Korky is still in its retail packaging on a closet shelf.

No Surprises, Plan to Use the Product to Replace Another Wax Ring
My installation is replacing a failed wax ring for a toilet setting on a tile floor. The flange is cast iron and sits about 1/4" below the tile floor. This toilet develops a slight rock, even when caulked. That combined with routine plunging of the toilet results in a life expectancy of 3-4 years for wax rings. So, this was not my first experience with this job or this toilet. After removing the toiled and the old wax ring I dried the area under and around the flange with a hair drier to reduce potential rusting of the flange. Per the instructions for a flange located below the floor, I installed the full set of foam seals (layers are removed when the flange is flush with or above the floor). Set the toilet on the new seal and secured it to the floor using the enclosed replacement closet bolts and hardware. I snugged the nuts tight enough to seat the seal, but left them loose enough to apply a thin bead of caulk between the toilet and the tile. Connected the water line and flushed the toilet four to five times to check for leaks, there were none. Applied a bead of caulk and snugged up the nuts enough to prevent the toilet from rocking, while avoiding overtightening. For me, installation was straight forward and there were no surprises. If you have not done this job before, there are plenty of videos on the web that will guide you through the process. The manufacture even has a video on installing this product. The instructions are clear, I am familiar with job, so I did not bother with the video. Regarding seal quality, there were no apparent manufacturing defects and build quality appeared good. Product is Made in the USA.. We have two toilets in the house. Baring any unexpected problems with the current product, I will use the same product when replacing the remaining wax seal. If I do have problems with the product in the future, I will update this review.

Better than wax
This was easier to install and use than a wax ring. We had to lift up the toiled and reposition it and it was easy with no mess at all.

Don't use a Wax Seal, use this instead...
This product saves a lot of time.. There is no fuss when installing this, especially if you have to jiggle and move the toilet around to line it up.. When you move the toilet around with a wax seal you damage the seal and the toilet will leak.. With this Korky Seal you can move the toilet around and you don't damage the integrity of the seal... I would buy this item again for any more toilet jobs... I am happy with my purchase...
