Excellent insert range hood - requires basic framing
I swapped out a builder basic ducted exhaust fan for this unit. It’s loud on the highest setting but gets rid of a lot of the smell associated with ethnic cooking. Very notable difference. The baffles are great at trapping oil. For installation - this thing is heavy and doesn’t simply mount to the bottom piece that it’s set on. It requires a frame that’s 26.5” x 10.5” that the sides of the unit need to screw into. So if you’re doing this yourself you will need basic framing knowledge and exhaust fan tape. It comes with a generous cord with the plug attached so no need to purchase a plug and wire nuts. I liked it so much I just put the same unit in my parents’ new home.

Impressively quiet
Noise level is super impressive. It does a great job with suction whether on low or high. Installation was easy to understand and I was able to install on my own. My son was so impressed with the unit that he changed his old one out for this same model.

Not terrible but definitely has issues
It works. It's not a great product but it's pretty good. I would probably return it if it weren't for the fact that my girlfriend will kill me if I do anything that even looks like I'm not finishing the kitchen remodel. 1. The grills are entirely covered in protective film. Entirely. Meaning, you have to take the grills apart using a screwdriver in order to peel the film off because they even covered the edges between the two halves. 2. The protective film is really poor quality film so it doesn't peel off in one piece. It takes about 45 minutes to peel one grill clean and you end up with a pile of little peices of the protective film. 3. The power cord is just a 4" whip sticking out of the top with no good way to conceal the joint (wire nuts). It's too short to put a box somewhere above/behind it. They could have had the decency to leave a long enough power whip to make it look neat. It's a lot easier to cut off extra wire than add more. 4. The grills are garbage. In the end, the grills are thin and bend too easily. Since you have to take them apart to peel the film off, it's easy to bend them when putting them back together because they are too thin. 5. The lights are not dimmable nor are they adjustable. That's right. They point straight down and you can't change it. They are very bright and you also can't change that. 6. The buttons feel cheap and flimsy. Overall it's not a very good product and writing this review has made me change my mind and decide that I'm willing to take the beating and return this product so I can get one that isn't so cheesy.

Sleek, effective, easy to clean - if sometimes loud
The media could not be loaded. I have had this insert for about a year and a half now. It's terrific. Love its three power choices for various scenarios. The Q setting is all I need most of the time. If oil is smoking in a pan, I'll go to L. If something has dropped in the oven and is producing lots of smoke as it burns off, I use H. Yes, the L and H are uncomfortably loud - but extremely effective for the purpose, and you don't need that most of the time. It wipes clean nicely, and the baffles are easy to remove and are top-rack dishwasher safe. The lights appear to match my under-cabinet lighting and are not bluish as another reviewer said. See my photo and video. I can't speak to the installation, as it was done as part of a kitchen reno by a work crew.

Very Nice
Super fan performance and low noise level. The only shortcoming is that the LED lamps only come in bright white color temperature. All of my lighting is soft white (2700-3000K) color temperature. I was able to order soft white lighting modules from Kobe, but at a premium ($70 extra)

I like it but it’s not for everybody
I actually really love this insert but it’s not for everybody. You have to do some tweaking to get the lighting right. My hood came with the flickering light issue and the blue colored bulbs. I pulled out the LED power supply and replaced it with a better (purchased separately) power supply and the correct colored bulbs. The power supply is easy to access even when the insert is installed. I just cut a few wires, pulled it out and spliced in a new one. The bulbs were a bit trickier because you have to solder and find the right sized housing. The good: Love the size, decent quality, quiet fan, excellent suction, LED power supply easy to access The bad: The lights are the harsh blue daylight (5600 K) color so they don’t match any other bulb in your kitchen, I had to replace the LED power supply and I replaced the bulbs with warm (3200K) colored LEDs

Love my new vent hood
The media could not be loaded. Love my new vent hood! I used this to replace our existing microhood 400 cfm which is external exhaust. No issues and simple. It does the job and It is very powerful! it also fit with my existing 15 x 30 cabinet. I did ask carpenter to make me a box hood cover for aesthetics. But could have fit my exising cabinet. A little loud but i compare the sone rating with other under cabinet vent hood Installation manual could have been more detailed- like it did not come with power supply and we did not hire electrician to do this. We already have existing duct and outside vent.

It looks fantastic and the lighting is very good
We used this built in for our custom designed range. It looks fantastic and the lighting is very good! The exhaust fan works very well We cook a lot of stir fry and seared items, and the exhaust captures the smoke very well. Product specs says the Fan rates as a Sone 1 for noise , but this is based on the lowest setting. The middle and high settings are much louder than we had expected, but the time frame we have it on is short so its worth it with the quality of the exhaust fan.

Almost Perfect - made it perfect
Perfect fan for our constrained under cabinet hood. Good noise level compare the crappy build quality fan we had before. My one complaint was the colour of the LEDs (they are a cold white) and the fact that these are not replaceable. I did find perfect drop in replacements (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0946YM7GK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1) for a warm white option. No rewiring required as both the unit and replacements have standardize connectors).

Beautiful Range fan, high end look for a great price
The fan was easy to install. It is very easy to clean the filters. We use the lowest fan setting most of the time and it works great and is not too noisy. When needed we use the higher settings which is very effective but noisy.

Damaged and turbine off center ** try it if can before installing***
I bought his hood after reading the comments thinking that for the price I would get something decent... The hood came last week and was installed today right out of the box we can see a dent in the corner so it’s damaged but the box was not damaged. I called in a ventilation expert and here is what we found, the rubber gasket was only half installed so it created a lot of vibration. the turbine itself is off-center so when you start the hood it will make it vibrate. There is no way to get in touch with anyone from that cie and you cannot return exchange if installed but how are you supposed to know if it works properly?
