Stopped slow leak

Had a slow leak from the handle and this kit includes everything needed to replace internal components of an old Woodard sillcock. I'm not sure what model it is but components fit and is an upgrade from the original plastic handle. Image on the package for location of components was hard to determine if the inner beveled o-ring direction of install but the beveled side should be facing out towards you if looking straight on.

Fixed my leaky faucet

My outside faucet leaked from the handle even when it was on. I simple unscrewed the unit and replaced the parts with the new washers and parts that came in the kit. A diagram was printed on the packaging. I put in back in the faucet and no more leaks. It took me less than 10 minutes.

Perfect kit to fix an old outdoor spigot.

The original 55+ year old model 14 spigot took extra effort to turn all the way off, otherwise it would drip. It has been this way for years. Removal was fairly simple. The original packing material was like a waxy thread material that needed to be dug out. At the end, the rubber cone was very hard and brittle. That part was easy to remove. The handle was difficult to remove and needed a little heat. Replaced all parts but the handle, and just used the original knob. Spigot was easy to get back in and screw down. Be sure to use two wrenches so that the spigot does not twist. No leaks and spigot turns off. Much easier to replace parts than to replace whole spigot as really it was in good shape considering its age.

Works beautifully, I was afraid I would have to replace the old Woodford faucet that came with a house, but this did the trick. There was debri inside the assembly when I disassembled the faucet, which must be from back siphon or impurities in the supply line. That's kind of scary. I hate to think my municipal water supply comes with chunks of rubber. The original had a fiber packing gasket which was probably factory installed. The rubber gasket doesn't have quite the same shape, but it seems to seal properly and doesn't effect the function of the valve. I do kind of wonder if next time I could just replace the gaskets instead of the whole kit. All the metal parts were basically working aside from some tarnish, although the repair kit is cheap enough provided the repair lasts 10 or 20 years. It's a bit tricky to figure out how to disassemble the faucet. There's some good tutorial videos on youtube. As Captain Obvious says, make sure you turn off your water main and have all the parts at the ready before you start work. I'd estimate the full repair takes less than 15 minutes, and only takes a screw driver and crescent wrench. To avoid stressing out the pipe, you might want to use double wrenches. It might be good to have a pick or needle nose plier on hand to help pull out the pieces of the packing gasket. Pulling out the old packing gasket is probably the hardest part of the whole job.
