Beautiful!

This stocking turned out so beautiful! I've made several bucilla stockings and something I've noticed is that they are not all the same quality, however, this one definitely had good quality felt and thread. This one in particular is on the difficult side and it was a lot of fun to assemble! If you're a beginner and not inclined to sewing you may want to start with an easier kit. Also I did run out of thread and some sequins but there's a number you can call and the company will send you what you need for free!

Really fun and turns out very cute.

This is a first time attempt at one of these kits. I was able to complete the project in less than two weeks. I think it was very fun and I am happy with the outcome. Because of other ppl's reviews, I used green sequins on the top part instead of white so I wouldn't run out. I actually like the look better. I found the backing to not be thick enough, so I will be buying more material to make it into a functioning stocking. But other than that, I had no issues with running out of any material. I didn't care for the instructions, so I used you tube for help with the different types of knots. That and referring to the main picture for where to use what color of thread/sequins this made for a very enjoyable project. I will be buying others from bucilla in the future!

I love doing these stocking! The one thing that was surprising was this is the first one I've done where the number of sequence didn't match what was needed. I was short 29 white sequence.

Beautiful stocking.

Directions were easy to me but I have years of embroidery skills. Wouldn't recommend it to beginners. Didn't have enough white sequins so I just bought more. It's turning out beautiful!

Love these stockings, Bucilla in particular, I’ve done several of them. Plenty of materials included to complete project. Great quality of the materials included (thick strong felt, strong floss, beads are solid, very few break but they’re glass it’s understandable, sequins are free from imperfections, perfectly concave and covered with proper color, some brands send sequins half colored ????) I wouldn’t suggest this for beginners tho, I would find some simple ornaments first and then move to stocking, especially this one. I absolutely love it, but my favorite thing (I think this includes ALL Bucilla products if I’m not mistaken) is that the felt is printed with the pattern on it. Some companies send felt and then paper patterns and that is NOT fun my friends - not gonna lie I still buy them and do them cuz I love sewing and crafts but I will pick printed felt over non printed every single time. The felt doesn’t get fuzzy and pilly the more it’s touched, it stays smooth and glossy, the floss is unmatched as well, some projects I bought from China and the floss does this weird fuzzy, cotton fray after only a couple passes in stitching, Bucilla’s floss stays smooth and glossy as well, no fuzzing or fraying - plus it has led lights, pshhh! Who doesn’t love tiny lights on a decoration?! Pure joy ????

Great pattern-get ready to visit your local craft store!

This stocking is just adorable! I will say, that before purchasing I had read reviews that mention there are not enough white sequins. BELIEVE those reviews! There are not even close to enough white sequins. I found myself at two craft stores looking for the correct sequins. Overall, that wasn’t a huge deal for me (I love a good excuse to go to the craft store????). I also ran out of red and green embroidery thread... but I had had more of that on hand. I have several stocking kits from Bucilla and the quality is not the same across different patterns. The quality of this kit, however, it great! It is a more advanced pattern and I would recommend doing an “easier” pattern before jumping in to this level of detail. Overall-a great pattern, great quality, good directions. Be prepared for a few runs to the craft store though!

Not enough white sequins

Pros: Stocking itself is really cute once completed. The LEDs are tricky to attach, especially the first one, but they're bright and sparkly and really finish the tree. If you don't use the lights I think you might want to add some more sequins as the tree looks kind of sparse compared to the bottom end of the stocking. Cons: The kit doesn't come with enough white sequins to finish the main stocking, let alone the ornament. Amazon was willing to send a second kit out as a parts stocking, but it seems like Bucilla really needs to fix this stocking kit, as it's a common complaint. I ran out of gold thread as well. Tips: If you want to add the LEDs, but don't want a child to tangle their fingers you can do what I did and place the lights inside the tree. I didn't put holes in the front either just in case the lights burn out at some point, but the glow still comes through bright and strong. Makes the inside of the stocking look like a surgical incision, but no one is going to see it so I didn't mind. If I had thought of it sooner it may be possible to attach the lights before you attach the tree to the stocking itself to avoid the long cut through the inside. I also added a little slit to take the battery pack out of that I plan to cover with a velcro patch in the future. I attached a photo so anyone who wants the light, but also wants the stocking to be functional can see what I mean. Ignore the mess on the back of mine. I just sewed through to the back since I couldn't quite get a hang of the 'only sew to the next layer' thing. Also, if you're a total beginner like me (never sewn in my life), you CAN do this kit. But get it early if you want it to be done by Christmas. The instructions really aren't great, and you'll need to look up how to do the different stitches. Also; practice the outline stitch before you do the tree so it doesn't turn out as sloppy as mine did. You use that stitch on evvvverything, and by the end you're looking back at your tree thinking "wow that looks bad".

Beautiful!

These kits are beautiful! This is the third stocking kit i have purchased and made for my grandchildren. I had no previous experience with embroidery or hand stitching. They come with coding and instructions on how to do the different types of stitching but i found it easier to learn from you tube videos. The instructions on this particular kit were not as good as the two previous ones i did. I was so happy to find such a beautiful item to make and give my grandchildren for them to cherish for the rest of their lives. All kits i purchased came with way more thread, sequence and beads than was needed.
