Battery powered, not hard wired

Even though the fan came with a remote, I needed either this device or a compatible 2-gang cover plate to wall mount the included remote. This was about double the price of the cover plate so I bought it as I think it looks much more finished and there is no risk of it being misplaced. I like this remote a lot, every feature is included even reversing the blades. The only knock on it is that it is battery powered and not hard wired, so will need new batteries from time to time. The description says 120 volts which made me think it might support hard wiring but it does not. Nevertheless I recommend it highly.

Works well.

Easy install. Comes with all available choice cover colors. The misinformation given on FAQ is that this light dimmer switch is a proprietary component that does not work with other brands. It works with Harbor Breeze brand. Also, this does control two separate lights on the fan. I have a fan with a upper light and a bottom light that operates separately. After I unboxed the switch controller, put in the battery and switched the frequency to the right combination, it worked in my hand. I removed the old switch controller from the wall and installed this new one. Put the switch cover on and I was done less then 5 minutes. That includes whipping down the wall around the cover of the kids finger prints.

Easy to use. Instruction sheet should provide a number for the battery. Would make life easier.

Easy Installation and works great

I installed the Kichler 370038MULTR wall transmitter for my Kichler remote control fan. Installation was easy. I had written down the dip switch numbers on the fan and my remote. All I had to do was set the dip switches on the Kichler 370038MULTR switch to match them. Next, install the battery, remove the old switch from the wall , put the cover plate back on and you are done. It has all of the functions of my Kichler fan remote. I want to mention that it comes with different color switch plates and wall cover plates. It is a fine product. Make sure you order the correct one. This switch has the reverse on it just like the remote that came with the fan.

Great product and quality!

Just installed it and it works great! Just pull the two black wires off the existing wall switch - turn circuit breaker off first - wire nut the black wires tightly and push back into the box. Mount the Kichler with the included correct color plates desired, install the battery and you're done. It says to change the factory dip switches but I didn't want to get out my ladder and pull the receiver out to change a dip switch code. It works just fine with the factory setting! I would say, if you're in an apartment where there could be units that may have these fans in them, you should then change the dip switches.

Is the battery included

The switch works fine but the instructions said a battery was included which it wasn't. I bought one ($12.00), installed it and all is well

Easy to install

Works perfectly. Bought a used one for $20. Works like new. It’s like a wall mounted remote in a wall switch, but no wiring required. Battery powered. You literally could hold this in your hand and use it as a “normal” remote. No electrician required. The only thing you might need to do is safely disconnect any existing wiring in your light switch on the wall if you haven’t already.

We have a two-light Monte Carlo fan. The remote transmitter died, and this one saved the day! I didn't even need to change the receiver, this one was compatible!

thank goodness it worked

After about 10 years my original controller failed and I could not find a replacement at any of the big box building centers or electrical stores. I turned to Amazon and went with this unit from Kichler. It was easy to install, works perfectly and it gives me the ability to run the fan in reverse.
