Nice smaller-sized curtain rod

I found this Kenny Adler curtain rod in my search for a smaller-sized rod to provide some privacy at a rear doorway (the door has square glass panes that can be seen through). The colors matched the chandelier in that room, and the price seemed about right. The old shade was a mangled roll-up window shade that had been bracketed to the door itself, so it took a lot of abuse (with the door being opened & closed): that shade was removed and thrown-out immediately after my last tenant had vacated. This curtain rod arrived in perfect condition. I mounted it only 1-2 inches above the door frame, since the ceilings are not very tall. It's not the easiest thing to install without a second person helping, but I was able to get it level and mounted without major difficulty or having to put a bunch of extra holes in my drywall. I'm removing a star for the instructions not specifying the size of the holes to drill (for the drywall anchors to securely be tapped-in). I started small as to avoid any errors that could not be easily remedied (eg holes that were too large), but the required trial and error made installation a much longer process than it should have been. A 5/32" drill bit ended-up working for me; start one drill bit smaller than that, if you're worried about it. Once the two ends are screwed-into the wall, the two sections of rod easily telescope together, and you just rotate them to screw them in on the far ends. If you're using curtain rings you won't need to take it apart again, but you will need to do just that if you're threading the rod through the curtain itself. If you have a small curtain to put up and the dark finish matches your decor, you should be pleased with this purchase. This was not a VINE item, so I actually bought this curtain rod, and I'm happy with it. Just be sure to (1) use a good level, (2) have a second person to assisting you with the install, and (3) use a 5/32" drill bit (or the metric equivalent) to avoid the frustration I experienced when putting it up.

For those without kids, one will not understand the need to have a sturdy curtain rod. I have a tiny human that is in training to be the next Tarzan, and sadly, I wasn't notified until after the decision was made. Many attempt to keep this curtain climbing child from breaking many a rod and luckily not his neck, to no success. However, a few heavy-duty screws and this curtain rod helps to alleviate some of my anxiety and is still holding strong ... It's been hanging without so much as a bend in the metal for nearly a year now. I hadn't gotten my hopes high, and thankfully, my offspring's desire to mimic a cat has diminished. I am contemplating ordering these in bulk for when I have grandchildren because I fear that they will not be unlike their parent.

Good material for price

The media could not be loaded. This product is great for household use, the material is light enough to diy but stronger than the normal it it is not plastic it is a lightweight steel, very strong comes with screws

Perfect for what I needed

I wanted to reduce the breeze coming from our windows in the winter, so I ordered lined drapes. These curtain rods are perfect because the drapes curl around the ends of the rods thus minimizing the amount of breeze coming into the room.

Great Rod!

This is a great curtain rod. It's not massive, wrought-iron heavy, but it's sturdy. Has a great look. The drywall anchors that come with it are useless. Don't even bother trying to use them. I will probably purchase this again if the need arises!
