Using this product to crush garlic. Have used several garlic presses in the past. This one by far is better.

Exactly what I needed
I've had a couple different potato ricers that have been terrible...hard to work and deformed instead of ricing. This one is great! It's easy to use, is strong enough, and makes potatoes really smooth for mashed potatoes, gnocchi, or pierogi filling. And it can go in the dishwasher, which is a bonus.

I used to use the one fron Ikea. My hands hurt after that, and felt like it was not good for my wrist. That’s why I looked for the better one! I love this item, it’s very good for you if you do not have so much power. easily smash it without any pain

best garlic press of all time
So easy to use and it truly minces garlic so well! Only left the outer case of the clove and minced the inside completely! highly recommend, not much force is needed to use this.

Easy to use as long as potatoes are well cooked
Good utensil, easy to use, plastic lugs that run in the helix spiral could be vulnerable if excessive force used, ensure items to be riced are well cooked or soft. Otherwise excellent performance and easily cleaned

I've had this for a few months now and I couldn't be happier! This mechanism is ingenious and so easy to use. I had a ratcheting garlic press for years that I loved because I have sore, stiff weak hands. But other people would break by over ratcheting and pushing it through the faceplate. They stopped making it and the search for a new one began. So I have tried many different garlic presses over the years and nothing compares to this one by Joseph Joseph. I love it! I want to own the lemon squeezer, and the potato ricer and I don't even rice potatoes! But it is just that brilliant. Companys will be copying this design as soon as patents are off! This item would be great for anybody, but it would be especially great for anyone who suffers with arthritis, chronic pain, or anything else where you have problems with your and arms shoulders and or, upper back ... it is just so easy to use. Smiply line up the red dots and then squeeze using all of your upper body in a fluid motion, no effort or strain on your hands, wrist or shoulders. There is little to no resistance, no matter how many cloves are in there. But don't overfill to the point where the cloves come out the top. The threads have to be able to get started. If you want more than 3-4 cloves at a time it easy to reload and you don't even have to clear out the last bits of garlic. Pros ✅Easy to use ✅Easy to clean ✅Can crush several cloves at once with no extra effort ✅Efficient use of garlic with little waste ✅Great color ✅Durable materials ✅Very well engineered Cons: Joseph Joseph doesn't design everything I need in my life! I'm loving the quality and design they put into all of their products! I'm slowly replacing everything in my kitchen with their stuff. It started with their Totem garbage can, and I was just blown away by it! Buy it, then buy one for a friend ... everything in life should be this easy and straight forward to use and maintain! Easy on the hands and rices potatoes beautifully
This is a sturdy and easy to use potato ricer. It operates differently than other ricers in that the action to push through the potato is more of a twist than a squeeze but it is precisely this movement that makes the task of ricing potatoes so simple and nearly effortless. Nearly all of the softened potato is pushed through with very little left to clean. When finished using cleaning is simple. Ergonomically this technique makes a lot of sense and I suppose for individuals who may have issues with hand strength this system would be more appealing since it does not require a lot of grip and uses arm action. The hand grips are a decent thickness which further makes it more comfortable to hold. I am pleased with the capacity of the ricer which is generous. It can rice a large or two smaller potatoes in one twist. As it is two separate pieces it does require some getting used to to line up and engage but the manufacturer has made this easier to align by placing clearly visible red dots to indicate the starting position. After ricing the first potato you are set. Definitely an asset when prepping potatoes for whipping or gnocchi. The holes through which the potato passes are just the right size and this part is stainless steel.

Awesome potato ricer.
I bought this as a gift for my mum as she only likes smooth mash. I am very impressed. My mum used it the day after she received it and her comments were as follows, " Great design, I like the way it comes apart so it is easy to clean. Its very easy to use so would be ideal for anyone who struggles to use garlic presses. It made perfectly smooth mash". I am now going to purchase one for my own household.
