Well built
Love it, used it one time and left it in my car. It got broken into and the only thing stolen was the tripod. Showing how good it is, even the thief appreciate the quality of it.

Good for now!
I like this thing in a pinch. I record in some weird spaces where a ridged tripod doesn't get the job done. It will eventually wear out. lots of moving parts. but for the price I love it for now.

It's perfect
I love this one. Has a good adjusting properties. Flexible, legs are thick not thin. For some reason the weight... makes it feel ???? can't wait to warp the legs around a tree branch:)

Generally solid product, finicky base plate that’s hard to tighten
The product works well, is lightweight, and grips awkward surfaces well. The removable base plate works, but could be designed narrower so that it more easily attaches to products that don’t have a broad level base. Overall, I’d recommend it thought.

says 3K, it dropped my 2.1KG, 5000+ GBP camera, incured major damage
First trip, taking my EOS R with 28-70mm F2 lens + sliding plate, total weight 2.2KG and the Joby 3K GorillaPod. I balanced my camera using an extra 140g sliding plate that puts the Gorillapod mount directly under the fat lens. I put it on flat concrete floor, it takes a good 1-2 min before it feels sturdy-ish and doesnt right away collapse under my setup. a bit better on really rough floor. And of course it happened: first day, of use, i put it on a wide enough and perfectly flat wall (overlooking the western wall in Jerusalem) - I started my timer, the legs collapsed 2 seconds later and dropped my camera from 1.5m onto a concrete floor, broke the EVF magnesium housing and scratches all around. The head, if properly tightened seems fine, its just the legs that don't hold it.

A Versatile Mini Tripod
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my girlfriend's upcoming holiday with friends. All in all, I'm impressed. * It's easy to bend the tripod into new positions * It can hold up to 3KG of weight * The included ball head and release head are good * It's light so can be used for vlogging There are a lot of complaints online about these breaking. It hasn't happened to the one I bought, but it is something to be conscious of. If you don't bend it into obscure positions and put too much load on it, it should be OK; but be aware that it can happen. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and may buy one for myself.

Broke after light use
I’ve used various tripods with a variety of cameras over the years, and was attracted to the lightweight and versatile nature of the gorilla pod. Unfortunately after minimal usage small micro fractures developed in the plastic housing for one of the legs, meaning that the leg became loose and eventually fell off. Not sure I’d risk mounting expensive kit on this tripod.

Disappointing - incompatible fixings and non-removable, flimsy, non-standard QR clamp.
I already have a Gorillapad 1k kit but wanted a version to hold a heavier camera. I am very disappointed with this larger version because it has many pointless design flaws. First, the camera mounting. The 3k kit does NOT have a simple tripod screw like the 1k kit has but instead has a quick release clamp and a plate with the tripod screw. A good idea perhaps, yes it could be but not the way Joby have chosen to make it. The Joby QR clamp is different from any other quick release I have encountered and it is quite flimsy with only a single plastic lug to hold the QR plate in place. I would expect something a bit stronger for both the clamp and the plate. The plate also does not have very much contact area with the camera and sticks out from the camera base. I certainly would not want to keep it permanently on the camera sticking out the way it does, just asking to catch or snag on something . There are various QR types around. The most common and fairly standard QR fixings are Arca-Swiss style or Manfrotto RC2 style. Why does Joby not use one of those? I use the Manfrotto type and have a couple of adapters I can use to either replace or attach them to an Arca-Swiss plate. I could possibly attach one of these to the Joby plate using its tripod screw but the Joby plate is small and rather flimsy and this arrangement might very well add extra strain and damage it. It would also then be very fiddly to attach to the Gorillapod QR clamp Second, the QR clamp cannot be unscrewed from the ball head to allow its replacement so I am stuck with using it and must fasten the Joby QR plate to the camera instead of the QR plate I normally use. This means I can only use the Gorillapod for one camera, and cannot quickly switch the camera to a normal tripod using either another QR or just a normal tripod screw.. Switching cameras becomes twice as cumbersome as having no QR attachment at all. Third, the supplied plate can be easily lost or dropped, and because it is completely non-standard and its mounting clamp cannot be removed from the ball-head, without the plate the ball-head would become completely useless. No spare was supplied. Fourth, although the Gorillapod stick has a standard 1/4 inch tripod screw the ball-head itself accepts a 3/8 inch screw and an adaptor is used to upsizes the 1/4 inch screw on the stick. Using 3/8 inch with an adapter is not unusual but the adapter usually can stay in the head, the Joby adapter stays in place on the stick screw, not in the ball-head itself, so removing it from the stick to allow a standard 1/4 inch attachment to be used on the stick or to place it in the head is fiddly and prone to it being dropped or lost. The use of 3/8 inch would be just about understandable if the 1k ball-head on the 1k stick also accepted a 3/8 inch screw but it does not, it accepts only 1/4 inch. If Joby insist on using a 3/8 fixing they should at least use it for both to allow easy swapping of heads between Gorillapods in case one becomes damaged. Fifth, if Joby insist on use their own unique style of QR plate they should supply two plates so the user has a spare or can easily use the Gorillapod with two camera bodies. And the QR pate should be substantial and strong with a firm attachment in the clamp, not flimsy and secured only by a single plastic lug. . I shall return the Gorillapod 3k kit and either buy a competing product or just buy a Gorillapod 3k stand and attach my own ball-head with a commonly used, strong and readily available QR attachment plates.
