Description review on receipt

The actual basket (without handle) measures 2.25" high, 12" wide, and 19" long. I wanted a basket that would allow me to close my gas grill top (without basket handle) but also sized to fit into a large metal baking pan for oven use. This size basket satisfies my size requirements. The label on the box cites this as a "Large Grill Basket" not to be confused with the "Large Flexible Grill Basket" also sold via Amazon. The two are clearly distinguishable upon examination. Why the cited description of this basket, on this website, does not match the shipping box information eludes me. As expected, the basket is light because the wire is thin. Since I cannot determine how long the thin wire of the basket will last, I have assigned a 4-star rating initially. Hopefully, my measurements will help others when sizing their needs. One plus provided is the fastening mechanism design. Many baskets with slider closures pinch the food near the handle, while the other end can allow for food movement and less sticking of food. The design of this basket creates a uniform top height over its void, thus, allowing food to shift when flipping over, less contact to metal, and hopefully less sticking. Also, slider device baskets tend to allow the basket top to pull off the basket and requires attention to detail before and when flipping the basket. This product should be less annoying, when flipping, another plus.

clumsy, clunky design

Looked good on the web, but is actually difficult to use. The top (adjustable) grate gets caught in the sides, making it troublesome to get into place Seriously why have sides at all? The concept is to have the top and bottom clamp down on the food so you can easily move and flip. The sides keep the basket from getting as close to the heat source (2") as the other side can get (0"). Buy a hinged grill basket. They're easier and better to use on foods like fish and asparagus.

With the handle being removable, I can finally close the lid to my grill.

Fits a ton of food, and makes wings a snap! No more flipping them one at a time. Just pop the handle back on and flip away!
