Good product, weird delivery
The tap itself was great- quality US made product, good price. Would give 5 stars if delivery was close to that promised. Delivery was weird. Normal 2 day Prime delivery was promised. Got a message after 2 days that the item will be delayed and something about it being assigned a new tracking number. That would be fine if someone had shared that number with me. Then nothing for 10 days, and the item finally shows up. Today - after about 2 weeks- I get a message that the item "may have been lost" and I could get a refund. I am an honest guy so I would not do that, but, overall... weird!

Well made product that should serve you for a long time
I'd picked up an Irwin small metric tap and die set some years ago. The quality and performance from that set helped me select this 10x1mm tap. I used the tap for making an adapter to mount a couple VDO 10x1mm oil and temperature sensors to my car. The tap had no problems cutting the 6061 aluminum block for the sensors. In fact it was hardly any effort at all. I'm very pleased with yet another Irwin tap/die in my collection; I think you'll be happy with this tap as well.

Never had a Irwin tool not function as described. Threaded aluminum and steel easily. Remember to use cutting oil and back oit intervals

Used it to fix threads on an aluminum part, it worked wonderfully. I don't know how this tap will hold up on steel. May or may not break inside your hole. Be careful if this is your only option, tap hole slowly and always back off to break chips clear hole frequently with compressed air.
