Short life

This got me through two custom tie rods in 6061 aluminum, but it looks like that's about it. Not much life in this tap

Well made, quality LH tap

The listing stated it was USA made, but I could find no reference to that. Still looking for that, I tried talking to the vendor, but they don't even know where it comes from... How does one keep a job without knowing the product??? The tap worked superbly! They are titanium coated and that's a good thing too. Perhaps they are from Europe. The quality appears to be better than the average chinese cr-a-p. At around $13 including free Prime shipping the price was right and it got here quick. Many other vendors were a lot more and they were definitely cheap chinese stuff... Regardless, I recommend these taps (and dies if they make them).

Worked fine

I used a tap guide to get the tap started straight, tapping oil and a T handled wrench to provide even pressure on the tap. It worked fine. Made a new "nut" for an Aloris tool post and got great results. Not the tap I would buy for production work but more than adequate for occasional use.

Does not last

I used this tap to thread 7075 aluminum and after threading about 4 pieces it started getting very dull. I have another brand that I have used for the RH threads and it continues to cut after many more times cutting the same material.

Good product

This worked great to clean up the threads in a threaded insert on a control arm I built for my Jeep. I got it a little too hot when I welded the insert in the tube and distorted the threads. Clean it right up easily with just the tap and a little cutting oil.

Good tap for the money and occasion.

Play this tap in reverse and it makes things happen inside holes. It cuts nice little threads in steel, aluminum, and really hard ice or plastic. You gotta use a LHT bolt after that because this tap only cuts LHT. Real uni-tasker here, but it does it with such resolve.

Surprisingly functional

I was a little concerned about the quality from reading other reviews, however this one did the job. I was able to complete my project involving the tapping of 4 - 2" deep holes in mild steel bar stock and it still appears to be sharp.
