Just what I needed
When the rubber threshold insert went bad on my front door (been there longer than the 17 years we have lived here) I tried to find a replacement locally. It was weak and too soft and did not fill the gap under the door, letting in cold air. This one was 2-layered, which already told me from the picture that it was more like what I had and what I needed. Rubber was quite stiff, meaning it will not collapse and fail at its job. Not hard to install, but strong enough that it should stay put. 36 inches wide, but had an extra inch if your door was over-sized. Mine was not, but it was easy to cut with a household scissors.

Fits Perfectly
The groves where this snaps into place need to be very clean! Fits just right!

Non-Existent Replacement Part
I needed to replace the vinyl insert on an aluminum threshold. Macklinburg Duncan was the suspected manufacturer (no markings or part number on piece). I searched the threshold rack (which is well hidden in the back of the store) at Home Depot. A lesson in frustration. I ended up purchasing two different designs at two different HDs. Neither fit. In desperation I wrote MD and explained the situation asking if a wider insert similar to one design was available. The MD website is totally useless. Reply rec'd: "That's the widest we have, try Frost King". In searching the Amazon site (which is what I should have done initially) I found exactly what I was looking for after its existence was denied by the manufacturer. Hard to find good help these days.

The one I needed and priciest
This threshold seal was a pain to locate, could not find at big box. Not sure why this is the priciest of them all and they don’t seem to sell this pattern of grove inserts at big box anymore. pay close attention to the groves on your threshold and you should be just fine. Make sure they grove pattern matches, don’t think like I did and say close enough. I learned the hard way that I needed the exact pattern. This one fit just perfect on my 12 year old threshold and it seals great.

Way easier to install than I thought- 1 or 2 min.
Just great - just moved in to our new house and learned the front door sweep would get swept by the door. It was a very confused door sweep. Trying to reinsert that one, it was obvious it had ripped along the side and nothing short of super glue and frustration would have kinda sorta fixed it. It was a little short on each side anyways so I put it on the list of house projects, but didn't like what I saw at Home Depot. I bought some weather stripping that is MD Building brand and then the insert appeared as a related item. Really it was a small purchase that made a Huge! difference. It arrived early, day after I ordered. I was all ready to take out the whole sweep, screw driver ready, after seeing how hard it would be to stuff the old one into place, but nope! Installation is as easy as pinching the the insert semi firmly along the door sweep, and then it just expands into place. I cut maybe a half inch off the length just before reaching the end, and pushed down along the length until it was all sitting flush. I don't have to keep kicking an insert back and forth out of the way anymore, and I didn't even realize until now how much extra space there was with the old one. My door feels better and more snug, it doesn't slam with the smallest of pushes anymore either. So weird to be so happy about a door insert, but what can I say? It's the small things in life. The before picture is the old black insert when it was kind of kicked into place, but most of the time half of it was hanging out on the porch, and never stayed in place.

Replacement seal for threshold
Our home is 35 years old and the rubber sealing strip in the threshold of the door into our garage had disintegrated a few years ago. I couldn’t find a replacement seal at the usual places like Lowe’s and Home Depot so I added a sweep to the bottom of the door to save having to do the much bigger job of replacing the whole aluminum threshold. The sweep solution wasn’t really a great fit... didn’t look great and wasn’t a great draft free fit. I found this replacement threshold seal on Amazon, it arrived quickly and installed literally in 2 minutes. It fits perfectly and the door is now draft free. I had to remove the sweep I added onto the bottom of the door so that the door would close properly, but thats a bonus as aesthetically it looks much nicer. So far I’m very pleased and would highly recommend.

Just what I needed to replace a worn out and in pieces original door threshold molding. Went in easily with a bit of heat to make it mor pliable.

Easy to install
It was easy to replace old and install this one. Only thing under our door it doesn’t have the height needed to effectively seal the draft.

Cut to fit and install.
Actually just siliconed this product directly to the door threshold 10 months ago and it is working just fine. Material has remined flexible enough to fill the air gap at the bottom of the door with no cracking or other issues. Reviewed after 10 months of use.
