Only detects ADULT lice, not nits, not eggs. Use only on DRY hair
This will not work as a stand-alone product. It will not even work for the purpose I bought it for: to check our hair for any nits or eggs that escaped the pesticide treatment. So, this ended up being a waste of money. No where on the listing here on Amazon or on the exterior of the packaging does this tell you that it ONLY detects adult lice. It was only after I cut into the clamshell plastic packaging and read the instructions that I spotted that disclaimer, so I was no longer able to return it to Amazon (I asked). Adult lice are easy to spot - I don't need any help spotting them. They are easy to remove - the cheap lice comb that came in the pesticide treatment kits removes them easily. So, what is this product for, exactly? If you are trying to remove lice without pesticides, this will not help you do that either. By the time an adult lice is big enough to get spotted by this tool, it has already laid dozens of eggs in your hair, and those will all become nits, which become adult lice. Remember that this tool doesn't detect the nits either. It is feasible that the comb will remove them, but if you miss one (and this won't help you to be certain), you allow them to mature, then lay eggs. The cycle won't end. I suspect there is a reason they didn't reveal anywhere that this product DOES NOT FIND NITS OR EGGS; there is no way I would have purchased this had I known. Let's say I found it useful, somehow. You cannot use in on wet hair. Your hair must be dry. If you have ANY wave or curl to your hair, you know that combing it dry is an impossible, painful task. And this comb is very fine, so it's ripping out hair as you attempt to use it. The only people who might find this helpful are those with short, straight, tangle-free hair. That's also NO WHERE stated in the advertisement or on the exterior of the package. I'm really baffled by this product. The only way to hoodwink people into buying it is to withhold information until it is too late, because who is going to refund an opened lice comb? Save your money. You can spot live adult lice without a problem without the fancy electronic component. It's the nits and eggs that are hard to spot.

Love the flashlight feature
I like that it has a flashlight to help you see in darker hair, and it comes with a battery so no need to worry about buying some. It has a red indicator light to detect the lice but it didn’t seem to work correctly when I used it. It did light up when I touched it with my fingers though

Kind of a gimmick. Works ok, but didnt do any better than the cheep basic comb.

We got this and the Robicomb. When the Nix hits a bug (or something else that shorts it) a red light turns on for a few seconds but that isn't so helpful in this arduous task of bugicide. The Robicomb sounds off and I found that much more helpful in determining where the bugs/eggs were located. In all I did not find either of them particularly good at killing the bugs (nor does the Nano-Wand, btw) so mostly it was good for coming them out and identifying where they are. It might have killed some, hard to tell if it was that or the chemicals, which I also was not so impressed with. We used the robicomb the most, but it started falling apart and wouldn't go back together well. Robicomb was easier to clean (and thus fall apart) but the Nix seemed much more sturdy. Nix also has a head light on it, not sure what use that is. In the end we gained victory by washing hair normally twice a day and going through it with the little fine purple combs to pull the lice out before they became mature enough to lay eggs. Took about 5 weeks. Would rather have chicken pox.

Shocks well
The comb worked great for shocking lice, eggs and my child’s scalp. The comb, when finding a bug or nit will kill it and send a small electrocution to your kid. Although not intended, I enjoy the effect to show and remind my child not to share brushes or hats. If this could have a pole attached to see the child’s face during the shock, it would be ideal. Altogether I’m quite impressed and got a great laugh “checking” everyone’s head.

Too good to be true.
We bought this because I found lice in my son's hair. People said good things about this so why not give it a try? It's crap. I very thoroughly combed his hair with this thing and found nothing, the comb didn't ''catch" anything so to speak, it never lit up and after using it for a while I decided to check out how it was doing by combing through his hair with a cheap plastic lice comb. That's what worked, not this thing. I was combing out the nits and babies and fully grown louse all alive that should have been killed with the comb. Disappointed.

Not a good purchase . 1 star
I bought this because of the brand name, having used the lice shampoo. The shipment didn’t come faster even though I paid extra for it. The packaging isn’t very practical, and it forces you to use scissors so that it’s non-returnable. It’s not comfortable to use and the battery wasn’t working, having probably been in storage for quite awhile causing it to leak out white liquid. We had to buy new batteries. It does catch lice but I’m really unsure wether or not it’s killing the lice, even though a red light shows after it finds the bugs.

Crap
Bought this product thinking it would be a good purchase. Got it started using it and noticed immediately that the teeth were too far apart and didn’t show the red light. So brought out the n electric comb and worked a thousand times better than this waste of money. Can’t even return it because of how hard it was to get out of the packaging. Word of advice save your money and buy a regular comb

shipping was quick which was great but it does not work! the comb does nothing. it does not even pick anything out of heads because the comb is too spread out and not close enough.
