So far so good
I bought the 50 watt for a 5.5 gallon betta tank about three weeks ago, and it's working fine. My thermometer reads about two degrees lower than the heater is set to (78 vs 80), but it keeps the temperature steady.

A Little Big, But Awesome + Update
This is a very good heater. I love the knob to change temperatures. I also like the reader that lets you see what temperature it is at. The only thing I do not like is how large it is. I had to move my gravel a tad bit to fit it in there. But on the bright side, my filter had space for this heater. It doesn't touch the gravel but is only a hair away. I didn't know if this heater can touch gravel or not, but I like to be on the safe side. It is a sturdy, good looking heater though. I totally recommend you get this if you have a 5-15 gallon heater. Update: Here we are one month later, 7/12/16 (Prime Day!). And just last night one of my 5 bettas in my sorority was killed by this heater. Now, I don't really blame it on this heater. This betta, Velveeta, was the most dominant of the five, and because of this, she ate the most. Velveeta was very fat, and I started her on a diet. Well, she must of been so big that she couldn't get away from the suction of the heater, or the filter pushed her to the heater. Either way, she died. When I got her body, her big ole stomach was gone, and the rest of her body was black/brown instead of the vibrant blue she use to have. I will not return this product, however, because I think it was because she was so fat. I love this heater, even though if you want a 78 degree temperature, set it on 72. Overall, I am satisfied. RIP Velveeta. 7/11/16

Favorite Heater
I've had a few heaters for fish tanks in my time, though by no means a lot. These have been my favorite so far. They're inexpensive, adjustable (in my home they can heat between a 5 gallon to a 20 comfortably with the adjustments), and pretty consistent in regards to temperature/regulating temperature. I currently have two bettas, each in a 10 gallon with one snail, and keep the temperature right around 76 F all the time. I did have one go out on me after owning it for six months, but I had just moved and it simply got squished in my car since I was trying to get the fish relocated as quickly and comfortably as possible. I ordered the exact same heater to replace it. Short version: good, reliable heater for a fair price.

It's still running and keeping the tank nice and warm
I got this heater in August 2015 for a 10 gallon betta tank. It's still running and keeping the tank nice and warm, even in the cold winter! I think that over time, it starts getting a little warmer, but only by a degree or two. The temperature setting on the heater definitely isn't 100% accurate, and I have to have it set a little lower than the temperature I want- but once you know it's a little off, it's easy to just set the temperature a few degrees lower. Overall it's been a really good heater and I haven't had any serious problems. I also have it fully submerged and horizontal in my tank. I've even seen my snails climb on it and eat algae off it it before, too.

but easy to read and set the temperature
Kinda big, but easy to read and set the temperature. I was unaware that the black top would come out of my Fluval Chi 5 g tank, which meant my lid could not rest flat on my tank. Luckily my father cut a hole out of the lid for it to fit through.

Great quality for a small tank.
Very sturdy. I can't imagine ever breaking the glass because it is well protected and thick. Temperature selection is a great feature. Keeps a small tank at an accurate constant temperature.

Hopefully I won't need to use it BUT.....
Haven't needed to turn it on yet as my tank is maintaining a nice temp for my Finbabies. Simple install.Easy to open, easy to use. Will update this if I have any negative issue to report!

Good heater
This thing does keep my tank steady at 72 degrees and I love it but the temp dial is a bit off. Once you know how off it is then it is really easy to dial in. If the temp dial adjustment was accurate it would be 5 star but since that was 1of the main reasons I bought this model I can only rate it a 3
