Works with Alexa Smart Thermostat

Although not advertised as such, this does work with the Alexa Smart Thermostat, which is manufactured by Honeywell but doesn’t come with the equipment required for mounting to a junction box. It’s a little overpriced for what it ultimately is—a piece of plastic with holes in a specific configuration—but given the proprietary design of the newer Honeywell thermostats, it was my only option. Note that if, like mine, the junction box serving your thermostat sits behind the drywall rather than flush with it, you will need to attach it with longer screws than the ones that come with this kit. Still, I didn’t deduct any stars because the supplied screws are long enough to reach a junction box mounted in the standard fashion. The cover plate is larger than I was expecting and should be sufficient to conceal holes or markings left by any modern thermostat of any size.

100% Perfect for the Amazon Themostat if you have a single gang outlet!

I found it very funny how the plate that came with the Amazon Thermostat had zero hardware to be installed into a single gang electrical box (installed horizontally). Every home I have seen, uses one of those boxes, so why was there no adapter for it!? Thankfully this product, while designed for Honeywell, worked perfectly to solve my problem and gave the Amazon thermostat a nice look. While could not use the plate that came with the thermostat, the one this kit came with looks just as good!

Perfect Match For Honeywell T5

First of all the color match of this cover plate was perfect with my T5 series thermostat. I know others have mentioned it has a slightly different tint but I didn't have that experience. It could be others have used it on different models than I. Secondly it was a breeze to install. It took about 15 minutes but was really easy to do. Third - when I removed my old thermostat and installed the new Honeywell, the cover plate that came with my new thermostat covered a smaller area on the wall. The walls were originally white but then painted tan by the previous owner who did not remove the thermostat when they repainted. This left an area about 6" x 6" of white on the wall. I thought I was going to have to repaint until I found this cover plate - it covered that area perfectly!

Easy to install and quickly finishes the thermostat installation with an acceptable plate

As noted, the cost is high but the style matches and it is finish quality (you also receive an electric box plate). A slightly narrower (medium?) size would be better for the T9. Note: the previous thermostat was a PRO Series TH4210U2002 and the wiring block matched without having to redo any of the connections.

Used with RTH2300B thermostat with some alterations

If you want perfect and easy, this might not be the solution for you, but for me? I love the result. I can’t use a newer thermostat with my system without paying an electrician to require my house, so I had to buy a non-smart thermostat to replace the old mercury one the previous owners left. There are no solutions on the market made for these thermostats so I thought I’d give this a try. I had to drill two holes on the faceplate to go into the anchor holes on the thermostat bracket (there are actually indentations on the back of the plate the line up), and I had to break off the three tabs designed to hold the thermostats this product was made for with a pair of pliers. The imperfect part is if someone is really short, you can see a notch where the bracket for the faceplate screws into the electrical box.

Took a shot and this was a perfect fit for the Honeywell Home RTH8560D 7 Day Programmable Touchscreen Thermostat. That thermostat doesnt come with a wall plate if you were working with an electrical box. This solved that problem.

Covers the exposed wall issues from prior Thermostat

This works perfectly with the T9 as a solution to cover holes and unpainted areas exposed from the old landscape orientation thermostat. It would have been nice if they included the back plate in the T9 package. It is too expensive for a piece of molded plastic, but I am glad I purchased it. As others point out, if you previously installed the T9, you will need to fully remove it and the wiring before putting this back plate on. Make sure you take a picture of the wiring before removing it. Follow the useful instructions on the packaging.

Does the job

This kit is exactly what you need if you are installing your thermostat over an electrical box. However, it will work over drywall as well, just use the screws that came with T-stat. I'm using mine for a T-9, and it looks great! Should be about $9.99 though, or better yet, it should have come with T-stat. Think about it Honeywell.
