Mounted Without Holes in Wall

As you can see from the photo the room where the thermostat is has wallpaper. I didn't want to put holes in the wallpaper that would then be impossible to fix. The design of this enclosure let me put an included base plate BEHIND the thermostat using the screws that mounted the thermostat resulting in no new holes in the wall. There was some slight difficulty in this technique as 1) I had to remove and replace the wires from the thermostat and 2) I had to drill holes in the base plate to align with the mounting screws of the thermostat. Neither of these steps were particularly difficult but be prepared for them. As a result the installation is neat and clean and can be removed if needed with no patching of the wall required. As an aside, the enclosure is relatively small so be sure to measure carefully and consider the protrusion of the locking mechanism in the width. Oh, I would have really liked a second key.

Does what it’s supposed to keep people from changing thermostat but if they really wanted to take a break it off very easily

Not perfect

All is good but the locking mechanism is not the best; it is flimsy and not sturdy. And, they should have added a second spare key! All in all, it is a good product.
