Takes time to work; you must implement patience

I used this product to unclog a kitchen sink. I followed directions. It took four nightly treatments to break down the clog. I wondered if I was making progress. On the fourth morning i ran the dishwasher, and the draining hot water appears to have completed the job. The drain became clear at that point with no water backing up. I added to the protocol by using one cup of vinegar each morning as an aid to breaking down minerals from hard water. I plan to use this product in a preventative fashion on a monthly basis, as I have five bottles remaining.

Great for regular drain maintenance.

We use this in our bathroom shower and sink drains regularly to help keep them clear (especially important since two of us have really long hair and we live at the beach so it can get sandy). I’ve used it successfully to clear slow drains too (it helps to plunge after using, which is in the instructions). Between this and the Green Gobbler, I feel good about having effective, non-toxic solutions to most plumbing issues.

Worked well for my drain problems.

We had two drain problems that this product solved. The kitchen sink had buildup in the pipes under the sink that was caused by a combination of soap and grease making them slow draining The washing machine drain was so slow that sometime it would back up and overflow when the washer was draining: this was probably caused by soap buildup. I made a slight modification using as directed for two initial treatments, I poured a cup of hot water in the drain after the Citra Drain each time to be sure to get some of the product past the trap. The washer drain now drains as it is supposed to and the sink drains are clear. Because it worked I treat all house drains with this product and will continue to do so. This is not for complete drain clogs but it worked for my problems.

Not just for drains!

Yes... I know this product is intended for drains, but it works best as a cleaner. I put in a sprayer and spritz whatever needs cleaning from windows in the house to car windows thick with cigarette smoke and road dirt. It cleans the granite counter, microwave and all the stainless steel. It removes grease from and shines the glass cook top. I add some spritzes into water and damp mop my wood floors; it works better than any hardwood floor cleaner I've ever tried. I clean the bathroom, tub, sink, toilet, but it doesn't remove hard water marks. However, it does remove soap scum easily. It removes dirt on grout lines. Oh, yes... I treat animal urine spots by blotting up urine and saturating the spot with Citra Drain. Works better than any other product I've tried, which would be all of them!

Worked Where Others Failed

Used it on a slow drain in a bath and it worked where other products failed. Also used it on a sink drain but the results were not as impressive; that could be because the buildup in the drain was different or maybe I did not wait long enough before using the sink. I will be reordering the product because it is the only one, which I felt comfortable using for safety reasons, that worked on the slow drain in the bath.

I purchased this based on reviews, and that fact that we're on septic...and I was leery about purchasing products that weren't specifically approved for septic. Our home was built in the 1940's with 1940's plumbing. I'm pretty sure this is our main problem. Anyways, I've noticed a moldy smell coming from our kitchen sink...and I felt it just needed to be cleaned. I've gone through a couple of bottles of this. Over time it seems to do the trick, but you use A LOT of product. I would prefer a product that fixes the problem a lot faster..and for less money.

Got rid of those nasty drain flies and use regularly. Definitely works, thank goodness.

It worked, kinda

I got this because the shower always seemed to drain slower and slower. If I put 2 doses of liquid plumber in it seemed to open the drain right up for a month or two and then it starts to slow down. This product seemed to open the drain up somewhat, (like from 20% open to 50% open) but it didn't seem to open the drain like the liquid plumber did. I used 1.5 bottles of it and it never could seem to open it up anymore than 50%. So for me and my issue it didn't do the trick.
