This is One Great System!
I wanted to wait awhile before I wrote my review. The water here in Prince Frederick, MD, Calvert County isn't the best. There is a heavy sulfur smell to the water and it is high in Iron as well. We first installed this system and all was going great. Then the smell started to come back. I called the company to see what else I could do to get rid of the smell. They suggested multiple solutions: A) Pour 2 cups of unscented concentrated bleach in each empty sump and close the system to hand tight and fit snug tight with the wrench. DO NOT over tighten. B) Drain your hot water heater. C) Open the main water supply to the system. D) Open a faucet at the furthest point from the system and run water until you smell the chlorine. Flush the toilet. Repeat at each point of use moving towards the filter system. If you find that the rotten egg scent is only coming from the hot water then I recommend flushing the hot water heater and additionally reviewing the link below with regard to checking the integrity of the sacrificial anode within the heater. Often times by replacing the anode with an aluminum/zinc alloy anode this will resolve the issue of hydrogen sulfide accumulation as well. We ended up having the plumber out to replace the anodes and flush the system. It worked, we also decided to purchase a different filter at the end: Kdf85 Catalytic Carbon GAC Filter - 20" x 4.5" We received and installed it in July 2016. We have high water use and are now needing to replace it again. We have changed our system around to not include outside water, we are thinking that is what wore it out so quickly, as we are in a new home and added a new lawn this fall that needed watered a lot as we were in a drought. So far I am loving this system. It works well and the water that comes out is clean, smell free and fresh tasting. I would highly recommend this system. Also if you are on a well, have a well report done and send it to them to have them help you customize your system. I wish I would have done that initially, they are very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. They also will be able to tell you which system will work for your needs. Very impressed with their customer service and they even called me to follow up later to see how the system was working for us. I love a company that stands behind its product and makes sure their customers are happy as well! If you are having any second thoughts don't hesitate to contact them and they can answer any questions you may have!

3.24.14 I LIVE OUT IN THE COUNTRY AND AM ON WELL WATER. I HAVE LIVED THERE SINCE 1999. THE WATER HAS ALL WAYS BEEN SMELLY AT TIMES LIKE SULFUR AND WAS LEAVING IRON BROWN STAINS IN THE SHOWER, SINKS, TOILETS AND ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE WHERE THE WATER VALVES DRIP AFTER U TURN OFF THE WATER. I DO HAVE A WATER SOFTENER BUT THAT DID NOT SEAM TO CURE ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS. THEN ONE DAY I STARTED LOOKIN FOR SOMETHING TO HELP FIX THIS WATER PROBLEM I WAS HAVING SO I STARTED LOOKIN AROUND. I FOUND SINGLE, DUAL AND THREE STAGE WATER FILTERS. SO AFTER THINKING ABOUT IT FOR A FEW MONTHS I DECIDED TO BUY THE Home Master HMF3SdgFeC Whole House Three Stage Water Filtration System with Fine Sediment, Iron and Carbon, Blue OFF OF AMAZON AND INSTALLED THE FILTER SYSTEM ON 3-04-2012. THE INSTALLATION TOOK ME MOST OF THE DAY. I DID IT ON A SATURDAY IN CASE I HAD REAL PROBLEMS AND THAT WOULD GIVE ME SUNDAY TO FINISH IT UP. HAD TO MOUNT, MEASURE, CUT AND GLUE THE PVC PIPE TOGETHER. I PUT VALVES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FILTERS AND PUT IN A DRAIN VALVE IN SO WHEN I CHANGE THE CARBON FILTER I CAN DRAIN IT UNTIL THE BLACK COLORED WATER GOES AWAY INSTEAD OF RUNNING IT INTO THE HOUSE PIPES. I WILL TRY TO POST A PICTURE OF IT HANGING ON THE WALL AND POST IT HERE ON AMAZON. INSTANTLY I COULD TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WATER COMING OUT OF THE SHOWER, FAUCETS AND SINKS. IT DID NOT SMELL ANY MORE AND WAS SOFTER AND THE STAINS IN THE SHOWER, SINKS AND TOILETS STARTED TO FADE AWAY SOME. I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED. STILL NEED TO CLEAN THE SHOWER TILES, SINKS AND TOILETS BUT LOOKS A LOT BETTER. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO OTHERS WHO ARE LOOKIN FOR WATER FILTERS. I NOW WISH I HAD DONE THIS SOONER. WHAT WAS I THINKING?

Immediate change in water taste, smell and staining -
this review is three weeks after installation -I needed a filter for well water (so no chlorine removal needed) that smelled bad probably due to sulfur and stained clothes, toilets, shower, etc. There was not a problem with bacteria in the water. I had a plumber install it so had to pay for the time it took for him to read the installation manual, replace a couple of feet of pipe and a ball valve. He also kindly mounted the filter on the side of my house. For some reason I thought it would be right next to the pump inside the pumphouse. All that cost 2 hrs of plumber time at $95/hr. the cold water is ready right away. For the hot water to clear completely you either have to drain the hot water heater or just be patient a couple of days while the tank water is replaced. I was able to drink water right out of the tap as soon as the system was flushed. Showers became a pleasure again. Now my concerns are knowing when the three filter canisters will need replacing, the cost for that, AND making sure the unit is not exposed to freezing temperatures.

Great Customer Service
I purchased and installed this system four years ago and it has been great. I did experience a failure the other day and called Home Master to discuss my issue. There is a two year warranty and I have had my system four years. I was hoping they would work with me some on the price of replacement parts. Well, they answered the phone quickly.....they were very friendly and, after I explained my problem, I was put on a "brief" hold. The next thing I know I am being told they were sorry for the inconvenience and they decided to send me a completely new system....including new filters!! Then, even though I live in Hawaii, it was shipped the same day and I received it two days later. WHAT??? Companies just don't have this kind of customer service anymore. I will be a long term customer. Much Mahalo for your kindness and work ethics!
