Perfect form and function

Originally purchased a galvanized latch from everbilt and it would catch on the hole for the lock. Also the metal was so light a piece of monofilament kept it from falling back down. Also, the auto close function did not work. The product from Hillman worked perfectly and did not have the issues the everbilt had. The hole for the lock is not in a position to catch and the stainless material is really heavy. Auto close resets and closes like butter.

Stainless steel latch good on outdoor shower

Using this latch on outdoor shower enclosure at beach house and after one summer of extreme exposure holding up well. There may be a touch of rust but in a more normal outdoor environment should be no problem at all.

SOLID Hardware!

I searched for days to find hardware that worked! We live close to the water, corrosion is always an issue in our climate. We purchased for a new gate and it is the most sold choice we could have made!!! Works SO well, never gets hung up, closes every time, and not in any way a cheap piece of hardware! Our gate is heavy and it still supports the weight and the closing time after time. We are over the moon about this product, don't hesitate .

Highly corrosion resistant in a marine environment

I installed this latch in June 2020 on a frequently used composite gate that is literally 80 feet in a direct, unobscured line to the ocean (not the bay) and the latch shows absolutely ZERO signs of corrosion which for the price is impressive, considering the exposure the latch is subjected to. I definitely recommend this latch for any coastal installation.

Stands up in a salt environment

I've had this latch and 2 Hillman stainless hinges installed on an outside gate on my beach house for over a year now, they are sturdy and still look and work great, As with any metal in this environment I do treat them with a bit of naval jelly one or twice a year.

Really well built

This in not the big box store black latch. The stainless latch is much thicker, and even the screws are stainless . Screws are also longer than my old bent replaced latch. I will buy another one for my second Fence. Well worth the money.

solid latch

this is a typical latch for a fence / gate BUT it's stainless so it won't rust and the metal is much thicker than the latches you get at the big box stores. this is a good solid product and should last a lifetime (without leaving rust streaks or squeaking) on our white fence.
