Baited and Switched... Contacted Seller, will update if there is ever a response.
Short Review as of Nov. 25th, 2019 So this thing just arrived. Short initial inspection on this: "forged steel" 22 lbs (10kg) hardened anvil, looks like a cast iron anvil - 10kg (22 lbs) anvil. I've contacted seller as it may just be an honest mistake. How to tell cast from forged? I can give a tiny hint in my long review - but please know that I'm NOT an anvil inspector/professional - there will be better resources out there to give you better answers. Long Review: So I am by no means an anvil expert. In fact, if anyone could fill me in on this, I would greatly appreciate it. The anvil I received has casting marks, is rusting and has a bent horn from impact somewhere. Initial tapping is leaving impact marks on the face of the anvil which leads me to believe that this is a cast iron version of their claimed "hardened steel" anvil. Will perform a steel ball bearing test on it later. I looked on several reviews which gave this item high ratings and only discovered later that these guys had received the 30 kg (66lb) model while their Amazon "verified" purchase was showing that they had made a purchase for the 22 lb anvil (as I made). Their photos are showing a 66lb anvil (30kg) - the 22lb (10kg) anvil shows a "10" on the side, and is significantly smaller. So, they are not reviewing the correct item that you would be receiving (at least what I received). Mine did not come black as pictured. It came blue. Which I feel could be another hint that this one is the cast iron one (I believe they are color coding their anvils in China - and the ones painted black are steel while the blue ones are cast iron - obviously, I could be wrong about this). Please let me know if you have information officially regarding this. Cast iron? Forged Steel? The way that I judge it is from the surface texture of the item (If you look at cast silver ingots, you will see that the surface of the item can look "porous"). If the item looks porous instead of hammered (forged) - it is "cast." To know this, you should know the difference between the casting process and the forging process. In casting, metal is poured into a mold. Sometimes, there will be pockets of air trapped inside, or residue of previous pours (see what I did there?)... for certain items (such as this anvil) you will see a "line" which runs half way along the horn or some other part of the item (this can be sanded down or ground out and smoothed out, so it is not "always" apparent). This is because some cast items (such as this anvil) are cast in "halves" and later joined together to form a "whole." The reason why you would prefer a "forged" anvil over a "cast anvil" is that sometimes the casting is imperfect, and may create a sort of "bubble" inside the metal. The integrity of the metal can be compromised if you are using it hard (such as hammering another piece of burning metal on top of it) and may break apart - thereby causing injury if you're unlucky. Forged items are hammered into shape and have less likelihood that there will be hidden pockets of air inside the item (as they are hammered out). At least that is my understanding of it. This is why you should look for knives etc. to be "forged" instead of cast (like for the movie collectible weapons etc.). Anyway, that is a really condensed explanation (my 'shooting from the hip' and somewhat negligent explanation of it) - you would do A LOT better to do your own research on the internet from a more professional or reliable source. If my understanding of this is incorrect, please leave a comment!!! As for how I would see it, if you are planning on hammering burning red metal on a more serious level, it would pay to purchase a more reliable brand or anvil (look for a used - tried and true anvil), as it would be terrible for a less worthy item to break on you in the middle of your work and seriously injure you. Anyway, I am in the process of contacting the seller about this - as I have judged this item to be cast iron at this point instead of steel, and will update this review if there is any interest in this. I buy these items with my own pennies, so if you feel that this may have been somewhat helpful, please share the love and click on that helpful icon! Please feel free to correct any mistakes I have made in my explanation of what I think cast iron and forged steel are. Please feel free to add to whatever I said in the comment section! I appreciate every contribution! Thank you!

Loud but solid.
For the price, this is a reasonable anvil. The only drawback it that it makes a loud clanging noise when you use it.

My 10 year old grandson is interested in blacksmithing.
Originally, I received the wrong item. My experience to return the wrong item was easy. This product was a great help for my grandson's early interest in blacksmithing.

My son loves it!
My son was very happy with this Annville, as was I. It also came with a free ball peen hammer which I was not expecting. My only complaint, and it really isn’t a big deal is that some of the blue paint on the Enville rubbed off in the packaging and delivery to my house. And some of it got on the handle of the ball peen hammer. Also, some of the packaging that it was wrapped in got stuck to it… I think because the blue dye or anchor whatever it was maybe wasn’t fully dry when it got boxed up… And that was a little bit difficult to get off without removing the blue paint. But all in all, a successful purchase. It seems like a pretty good value for the money!

Small jewellery type anvil
This small anvil arrived quickly. I did have to take a floppy disk to it and remove a couple cast imperfections, reshape the horn, but all in all it's worth the money. I use it for small jewellery and it works well for that, I wouldn't try making knifes on an anvil this small. Btw, it is steel and not cast iron.

Well worth the price!
With silversmithing as a hobby I occasionally make an iron or steel tool so this little anvil does double duty. Would like to have one of its bigger brothers but have no room for anything bigger than the 22 lb / 10 kg that I purchased. Should anything happen to this one, I would replace it with an identical anvil. I'm just that pleased and couldn't be happier with this purchase. Had almost given up finding one this size and pattern in steel. Travis

Nice anvil for a reasonable price
I bought the 22 lb steel anvil for light work in my shop. I completely agree with an earlier review which recommends that you spend a bit more and get a steel (instead of iron ) anvil. The anvil that I received was quite nicely made and did not show any of the issues that some other buyers had encountered. The 22 lb size is nice for light work and is easy to move about. The working surfaces are nicely designed and have not shown any signs of taking damage during use.

OK
A voir à l'usage. Je recommande cette petite enclume toute mimi, pas chère et de bonne facture !

Soft steel
No hardening on it so the steel is soft and can pe easily bent with a hammer.
