super quiet
This opener is supper quiet. I could barely hear the motor running. Installation was easy especially if you have a buddy helping you lift. This unit does not open the garage door fully. If you want to open the door all the way up you have to buy the extension rail and belt.

Sometimes you need a couple more inches
The product works. It is great... but I question why you even need it. If you read reviews... you will see MANY people order a garage door opener and can't install it because they need an extension. This clearly is a Marketing effort to lower the initial cost of the opener. However, almost all garages (unless you live in a much older home) will need it. This situation causes a lot of frustration and anger. From a waste standpoint... I am not sure what is worse. To have an extra metal piece that is unused or to buy the extension and then have the chain/belt from opener that is unused. To top it off... even with using the extension that I have to pay 1/4 of the price of the opener for ... it still came up several inches shorter than the Chamberlain it replaced. It took a lot more work than expected to put this all together. The extensions works if you need it (measure the opener of your garage to see if you need it).. it just isn't the efficient progress I would hope the Garage Door opener world should be striving for. I think it is time for the younger generation to build a better/different mousetrap and get bought by Genie/Chamberlain (since they are not going to innovate) or to take over the Garage Door opener market.

Professional approved
We had a professional come to give us and estimate to replace the door. He approved this items. It’s an extension which is for garage doors with more that usual height. Hopefully it lasts

Holes for pin did not line up
After waiting for an entire week for this product to arrive, and ready to finally get it installed, I discovered that the two holes for the pin (the one that connects the railing to the wall bracket) were offset by about 3/8 of an inch. As the pin needed to be inserted an an angle, it would not fit. Thankfully I had a drill handy to enlarge one side, but c'mon, where is your quality control? I really did not want to wait another week for my garage to open.

Buy them here, not HD
The whole garage door opener business is a bit of BS, as they sell openers for a 7 foot door so you need often buy the 8' extension.... and then when you have it installed by HD they need a kit, and then some other thing... and all of the sudden its another 40% more than the original price.. Perhaps more annoying is how HD poorly stocks these 8' kits in their store, where often they have been opened and missing parts and you don't figure that out until installation day. Buy this here, and know its sealed and complete...

Necessary for 8' garage door - not a fan of sectional rail system
First surprise was that I even needed this extension - it was not clear on the opener description that it was for a 7' door. The main issue I have, though, is that the sections slide together, but there are no fasteners and the sections aren't secure to each other - the slightly elastic belt holds the whole thing together. So, at the end of door travel, there is a slight jarring action where the section comes loose just enough to make a clunking noise. It's not like anything is going to come apart or fall down, but it detracts from an otherwise very quiet garage door opener. My previous "Overhead Door" opener had a long, solid rail that was sturdy and this end-of-travel clunk wasn't there.

Model EKTB on Genie's Website
This is what you need for an 8' door. The model listed GEN39026R isn't on Genie's website so I spent quite a bit of time trying to find out if this was the EKTB the website said I needed. After much looking and not finding the GEN39026R I took a chance and ordered this. As you can see in the right center of the picture it's an EKTB. 39026R is also on the box but again isn't listed on Genie's site. Hope this helps save someone going through the research I did.

If you are buying these, you bought the wrong opener.
I mean this works as it should so should i give it 5 stars? No, because it was ridiculous the 3 openers i ordered only did 7' doors (how common is that to 8?), so had to purchase these to get to work. Adding the price of the opener to these very overpriced pieces of metal and rubber all of a sudden made the original genie opener that seemed like a deal, right up there with more expensive, and better quality openers for the same money.
