Ok for the price

Files have worked well and have stayed sharp this far. Dropped a star for 2 files being bowed and 2 others not being ground completely. Still a nice set for the price point.

Files do have sharp teeth & an aggressive cut. But they are not hardened and will bend easily, especially when inserted into the handle. Also when in the handle the shanks are a bit to long making the files difficult to control when precision is required. For the money, sure if you don't need them for constant use go ahead & buy them. But I probably won't since I need files that are going to see hard use

Great selection of files to clean up 3D prints!

We do a lot of 3D printing and have recently adopted PETG as a favorite construction material, which can leave some roughness and stringiness on the final product in places. These generally pop right off, but in hard-to-reach gaps, it can be difficult to clean the print up and keep it looking sharp. I got these in and they've done wonders for making sure the various things we create have super clean surfaces. Very handy. The only downside is the case. I tried to slide a finger into the belt loop on the back of the faux-leather case, and the loop ripped a hole in the back of the case almost effortlessly. Sheesh! So buy these for the handy selection of files, but if the case is your deciding factor, look elsewhere.

All the right angles

The circular file cuts really nice. I didn't think my project was going to need all of the different shapes and cutting grades but I did use nearly all of them since they are so nice. There were none of the problems you read about from other vendors, like the cutting pattern not extending up the blade very high -- all of the patterns were uniform in height. This kit had the perfect mix of required shapes, points, angles, and grades. There was even one blade that had a smooth back for getting into a tight spot without disturbing adjacent or parallel material. Would definitely buy again. The vinyl pouch is suitable for holding them and when the project was done they were cleaned and put away nicely with my other tools. I would also like to add that I purchased a Pferd handle to use with these which definitely improved my experience, though I didn't always use the Pferd. When I went slowly, used small strokes, or ultra light pressure, I preferred to work without any handle and these did quite well with or without the Pferd. Nice little file set.

Goid set of small needle files, work great for tight spots. Cuts pretty well when filing and holding its sharpness while doing so, I’m happy. Fast shipping to.

Old fashioned

This set was selected to replace my old needle file set. The item was chosen due to price and configuration. The 3 file styles cover the majority of any small jobs at hand. Regular steel design was preferred over the diamond needle files. I have found that diamond files do not last quite as long as old fashioned steel. Diamond is for more specialized jobs and they are the best for glass and soft metals. My selection was based on fine work on hard metals. The package of needle files I selected is just what I was looking for. The files are a little larger than my old set. I have been trying them out on some small jobs and they perform well to my expectations. The files arrived in a factory package. Since the files are loose, for now I will rely on the flimsy plastic holder from the package. I have an M&Ms plastic tube that should fit this set for permanent stowage, if not this perhaps a toothbrush case. So if you are looking for a simple needle file set. And your requirements do not include working with glass and precious metals. This is the set for you.

Good for fitting the metal furniture on Japanese swords - habaki, seppa, tsuba.

They were good prices, I really like the larger handle your can attach. I did break one of them, but files are brittle, I've subtracted one star from thickness for that breakage, they're quite good for delicate work - fitting habaki, seppa, and tsuba to a Japanese sword blade is almost the only thing I use them for.

Low end file set

Not that good, not horrible. General tools ive found to have some decent value for money, but you can get higher quality if you wanted to spend more. I just wanted something cheap/good enough as a dedicated files to use on my 3d print projects. And since its just plastic, i didnt want a file set that was too fine or too coarse to do the job. These are a little on the fine side. Needed a variety of file shapes/sizes, and small enough with some different edge variety to get into tight spaces. These are just okay, each file is supposed to be a different shape, i got two that are the same - rather than an oval and round file, i got two round files... Not a perfect kit, but there are other shapes that will do that job, so its acceptable in my case. Not many other good options ive found on Amazon, so this works well enough for now.

Low Quality

Files are very unevenly toothed. Some areas are nearly flat. End of file is sharply cut off and won't fit nicely into the pouch. Handle 'nose' was bent on receipt and I had to straighten it to allow a file to be inserted. Sides of flat file are toothed, not smooth. Poor for detail work due to this. Might be that the case is the best part, to hold nicer files when I find them.

Nice files

Nice cutting files, handle included (but rubber's yellow color is a bad choice), practical zipping case. Look carefully to the drawing of the file to see witch sides have teeth or not. If you don't, maybe you'll ask yourself that you got some defect files. That's not the case. A smooth file's side has it's purpose! Cheers!

Very disappointed

Files did not fit when tried to insert into collar. After removing collar. Files did not fit into handle. Who ever at General put this kit together failed to check if every works and fits properly. Please avoid this product. Great idea, but poorly desisned
