Best hose connector system ever made.
Simply the best. When I get a new hose, the first thing I do is cut the crimped on screw thread ends off and put one of these on either end. Why these are not the default for every garden hose is beyond me. Investing in the system is a little bit expensive to begin with, but you will NOT regret it.

Finally - hose couplings that just WORK!
I've been looking for Gardena here in the USA ever since encountering this product line in other countries. I am beyond pleased with the Gardena - like a certain computer brand that you might associate with apples, Gardena JUST WORKS!!

Gardena quick connect water hose system
I've used this product for two decades. How many products can you say that about. I've broken a few parts due to rough handling (drove the car over one by accident). The are hard to find, a little expensive, but they work well and last a long time. I also have four of their sprinklers. I've tried other products that fail or leak after a couple of years. You can also daisy chain some of the sprinklers to run two or more sprinklers on the same line. These sprinklers have built in click connect stop valves. Compared to threading hoses to every device, the time saved by these quick click connectors will make watering much less of a chore. I have an old sprinkler, and some brass sprayers that are adapted with male connectors. My two outdoor faucets have female connectors. The hoses have a male and a female connector and all devices connect to the water with the male connectors. This set up allows quick reconfiguration of the hoses without fussing around. I also have two old washing machine hoses with one end cut off (about 2 feet long). I've installed a male adapter on each. These quickly connect to the faucets to allow splash free filling of watering cans, washing your hands, etc. Note: remove all fittings in the winter to prevent freezing. Drain all sprinklers and hoses. This is normal procedure for any freezing region. After you do this, you can store everything in an unheated shed. With a little care you can get 20 years or more out of this product and you'll save hours of time watering your lawn and garden.

5/8 inch connetor
Gardena sold a 1/2 inch hose which is what I have and now all of the replacement parts are for a 5/8 inch hose. The end fell off the hose so now I have a hose with no way to hook anything up to it.

I trust this Gardena coupler is fine although I have yet to actually use
This Gardena hose repair coupler took a number of weeks to receive because it came from Ireland. Made in Germany. I was about to replace the same type of coupler currently used because of hardness/difficulty of coupling, requires very high force to couple. I accidentally put a finger into this new coupler and got grease on the finger. This grease I think is silicone. This gave me the idea of trying silicone grease, one of many lubes I have one hand, on the old Craftsman/Gilmore coupler that is giving issues as mentioned. The grease made the difference and did not replace the coupler. I trust this Gardena coupler is fine although I have yet to actually use.

Just the ticket!
This part broke on our current Gardena hose reel when my husband twisted it around and around, thinking that he was removing the adapter to change the hose over to the sprinkler. This part is meant to stay in place, while the adapters just plug into it, and are released by pulling the orange "shaft" backwards. (Who do you think does all the gardening and lawn care around here? Hint: not him) Once a few of the plastic teeth that hold this guy in place were broken, the hose would no longer stay connected. I was glad to find this part sold separately as a replacement. Works as advertised and fixed our problem. Our hose is a hose again!

Best connectors in the world
I discovered this item while living in Germany. Hoses there have no ends and can be bought in any desired length. One of these pieces is attached at the ends for use with all Gardena hose connectors - both at the bib end and for nozzles, sprinklers, drip systems, etc. at the other end. I never had a problem with them leaking. Here in the US, I find the hose ends difficult to manipulate (esp. for arthritic hands) and have replaced them with this repair connector (also works to extend hose lengths) to use with Gardena nozzles and bib connectors. Love 'em.

great product
Gardena products are long lasting and tough. Yeah I take care of my stuff but 5 years of sitting outside in temps between 110f and 30f and the parts still hold on nicely to the hoses. Where I live you cant get hoses with fittings on the ends. These work great. Snap them off and the water stop always works. The quick release still seals very good. This is the second set that I have bought. I needed them for the upstairs hose and for the pressure washer.

This is not 5/8
Sadly this is not 5/8. I just bought a hose from Costco and tried using this because I had to split my hose. It's more like 1/2. Sadly had to return it. Good product just beware not 5/8.

No clamps
No tools and no worm clamps needed. It is a very tight fit for 1/2" hoses, but with a little spit-lube and it will go. I love that there is no clamp to catch and rip things, like clothes, skin or plants.

Don’t bother.
Plastic garbage. Cross-threads too easily and then useless.
