HORRIBLE INSTALL
There is usually 4 keyhole openings for ... 4 screws to hold up the unit. 1) These screw holes were oblong knockouts only a 1/4 inch in width, AND they were... 2) placed behind the housing that holds the fan, and 3) near the electrical box that is extremely small AND very sharp! 4) When you remove the knock-outs the fan housing bends out of shape, and shy of beating on the unit with a hammer, that remains bent. Plan on coming away from this install bleeding!! Two people were injured trying to place the supporting screws in the knock outs which are bent from drilling holes there because they really arent knock outs, more like they were impressions in the metal and drilling them out is your only option! I have seen the knock outs of 3 units during this project and none had issues like this. You wont want to run the unit on high, it is loud! While it is pretty, if not placed high enough you will have issue seeing the light and fan controls. This is the only exhaust fan I could find that accommodated 15" deep upper cabinets. It is in and I pray to never have to replace it.

Great product, difficult install
5 stars for product, 3 for getting installed. Overall, Really fantastic product. I think it works well, filters fantastic, looks spot on. Maybe can add a picture but the other installed picture does it justice. The biggest issue is it really seems difficult to install and is no go for a DIYer. You need a good install plan before you buy this beast, and a lot of places only install what they sell. I don’t think your average local handyman could install by themselves. I ended up having 2 guys from a local appliance place install, but even then it wasn’t easy. They reviewed and basically abandoned the manuals overhead install instructions, running back to the hardware store for different bolts to install in a more professional manner. The weight is an issue as the one install person had to hold for like 20 minutes will the other installer got bolts in. The finished install is sturdy and polished, but YMMV depending on the quality and persistence of your installer. So far, love the look and operation. Maybe update in a few months on how cleaning works out with regards to other reviews. Just make sure to have fully baked install plans before ordering.

Beautiful!
I searched high and low for a range hood that was a wall mount, recirculating (non vented), with out a chimney. The search took forever and I didnt even know if this would work with my vision. Futher, I wanted something with round edges as to not bang into the cabinet doors when opened. I settled for this one. I knew it was and under mount but ask my contractors if they could mount it another way under the floating shelves I had planned, as I did not want cabinets above my stove. I did not install it, my contractors did, so I can speak to how they did it. I just know they make it work. I was so excited! It really is a show piece!

Exactly what we needed
As you can tell from the photo, we had a tight space to fit an above range hood vent. I scoured the Internet to find one that would fit without our cabinet door hitting it. I’m so glad I found this one and didn’t have to compromise on design. Function wise, we love it. It’s a quality product. Installation was not that bad because my husband is well versed in these types of things. But don’t expect the instructions to provide you with much guidance.

Needs More Light
Overall this range hood looks awesome over my GE Cafe Range. It seems to work well but its to soon to tell how it handles grease with no outside vent. So far I am please with everything except the two little LED Lights. I wish they could be tipped a little in their housings or two additional lights installed toward the rear of the hood would help. The lightning is concentrated on the front burners and is dim on the rear burners.

Kobe is unresponsive
Overall I love my Kobe and it is a 5 star item. However the baffle filters get stuck and become difficult to remove. Plus skimpy instructions about cleaning yet they instruct you to clean baffles, oil tunnel, spacers and fan regularly. One solution is to study the parts list to find out where the oil channel actually is on the SQBD-3. Online I also discovered the “parts location and replacement” manual, which requires study because it is uncommunicative. And it isn’t clear that the oil channel is all that easy to unscrew and put back after cleaning. I think if i keep the inside wiped down after removing the baffles and regularly put the baffles in the dishwasher, it should be fine. After 4 months of use I found a pool of oil on my range and decided to try again to remove baffles with eventual success. Kobe does not answer their emails. They do have a website, but you are on your own on this one. Overall I am glad I have it. I love the look. I think it is a stable product and it picks up all the tiniest bits of grease and etc. But you are riding it alone, especially if you have to order parts, I am assuming.

LED Lights - out and impossible to replace
This hood was okay for our needs (small kitchen in NYC apartment). The complaint has always been that the lights are insufficient, but I'm quite disappointed now to find out that I can't even figure out how to replace the light fixture. One has been out for a while, I finally got around to figure out how to open the light housing but I can't even figure out how to replace that tiny light.

High Quality, Good Look, Fits Deeper Cabinets
We bought this range hood because it was one of the only models that fit our deep (IKEA) top cabinet and allowed for the air to flow at the front. It was more than we wanted to spend, but now we see the benefits. We love the quiet setting and the good quality lighting. We haven't cleaned the filters yet so I'll try to update our review after. But, so far so good!

Good product and price; install is rough
It does exactly what I needed it to do in a powerful recirculating range hood. However, as previous commenters mentioned, the install is difficult due to its mediocre construction: - all 4 screw punch-outs are obstructed by a secondary plate that houses the motor. It was necessary to use a step-drill for stainless steel to create new holes for the screws - The punch-out for the electrical wire is not really a punch-out but just an emboss. It can't actually be reasonably punched-out as no material is pre-cut. Again, we needed a special hole-saw for metal. Plan on having 2 if not 3 people to do the install of this range hood. I don't think this can be helped; it is a powerful and therefore heavy motor encased in stainless steel. You need at minimum one to hold and another to screw.

Great Product
Great product. Quiet but good air flow and looks good too. Only downside is that the lights do not provide a lot of light on the back burners - might be able to resolve that with different bulbs,

Been looking for a good and powerful ductless range hood for a while. Found Kobe. Overall the design and the quality is outstanding, but this is not what we are looking for. As my wife cooks a lot as well as our kids, we need something doing the job, not just looking good. I regret to say but it doesn't do the what it is supposed to do. We will be returning it right away - could anyone recommend good, ductless range hood?

This unit is high end well made product with good suction from the dual fans. The lights are positioned correctly to provide adequate light when cooking
