Still works great six years later
I bought this back in the year of our Lord, two thousand and sixteen, and it still works great! No complaints. I brought it to a scouting camp out and one of the other dads mentioned the need to get one for himself. Great at moving around coals and awesome at putting more air where you need it.

Awesome, if only they could weld brass a little better...
I love this product! There is not much to it as far as function goes, its a hollow tube with a mouthpiece on one end and a fork on the other. I use it all of the time for moving and flipping logs in my fire pit, as well as putting some air on a stubborn/smokey fire. The only thing wrong with the product is the weld along the flange of the brass mouthpiece. The seam where the brass goes from being part of the shaft to the flared out portion is very weak, and will easily break if you are not careful. I usually lean mine up against the arm of my chair or similar between uses while sitting around the fire. Through the course of an evening it might occasionally slide down the arm and tip over. Just that impact has been enough to break the questionable weld. It can be easily fixed with JBWeld or similar, since its not subjected to the fire and just holding the mouthpiece together. Were it not for that weak seam/weld, this would be a 5 star item all-day-long. I like the item so much that after my first broke, I ordered a spare. The one I fixed is holding together fine, and the epoxy is likely much more solid than the original weld. The new one is still in the box as a spare, but I inspected the weld when I received it. Sadly, its painfully apparent that this weld is still the weakest link. Be careful, and don't let it fall over onto anything hard because eventually, it will break off the mouthpiece.

Good Solid Product
This product is very obviously not a common product. I first saw similar products while civil war re-enacting. Blow tubes they were calling them and were far more basic made by civil war era black smiths. When I tried one I wasn't expecting much but it worked amazing. You can get the blow tube right into where you need it and it of course works far better than just blowing on the flames or trying to fan the flames with newspapers or other items. I would highly recommend one for anyone who often has camp fires or heats their home with open flames. The pictures are a bit deceiving on the item. The actual blow hole is in between the two hooks at the end, straight out the bottom between the hooks. The hooks are there for use as a poker, or to prop the item on logs or trying to get better angles into the glowing coals. This item will get lots of use, but I'm not sure of longevity of this item yet of course. But it seems like a solidly constructed piece so far. But I'll let you know in a few years if my opinion changes.

Good for a fire blow tube. Okay as a fire poker
Excellent for it's primary purpose of getting air to an exact place in your fire to help get the flames going. I didn't even know such a tool existed until I watched The Staircase documentary. It's also good for raking coals around and dragging some logs to reposition them. It's not a complete replacement for a real fire poker though. Since it's a hollow tube, I don't feel like I can jab hard at logs to help break them apart like I would with a solid metal fire poker. Unlike many of the other reviews that indicated the brass piece you blow into wasn't attached very well, mine seems very solidly attached. I don't ever see the need to add solder or jb weld to it like other reviewers have suggested. If it ever does come loose in the future then I'll update this.

Works Great
Gave it as a gift to our son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. He has the stove in his garage. Came out one morning after it was light the day before gave a little puff on it and it started burning again.

Surprised at how well it is made and works
The one I received was a lot better quality than a lot of the reviews I read. I don't see any issue with the welds at the bottom or the soldering at the mouthpiece. It feels heavy duty and I don't see why this would not last a lifetime if well cared for. I was pleasantly surprised that this mouthpiece requires a little force to blow through, however, in doing so, it does not allow a backdraft smoke up through the mouthpiece. I'm satisfied with this item.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this “blow poke” after I saw it in a documentary series where it was discussed in court several times... the original owner of this alleged weapon raved about how she “so enjoyed her blowpoke that she purchased several as gifts”... it struck me as a funny statement, and made me curious about ifand how it actually works... so I bought it... and it IS actually a pretty neat addition for beside the fire!

Absolutely fantastic
A must have! A slow combustion fire is our only source of heating. This allows you to fan the fire precisely, and no more smokey hair. Sturdy design, and a good fire poke too.
