Some minor concerns

I've been using this for about a month now. This filter seems well built. It doesn't precisely fit my old Melitta #2 filter holder... that is of little consequence. My only real beef is that the bail doesn't want to stay in place. But, again, for me, that isn't much of an issue. I don't use the bail, and will likely just pop it out and toss it. I just hope it doesn't portend other, more important, quality issues that will surface down the road.

Takes the strain

Originally purchased one of these 2 years ago, it is still going strong after being used once daily. Purchased another to keep in reserve as I did not want to run the 'risk' of going cold turkey waiting for an Amazon delivery, not a prime member, if the first one should ever break. Does the job well, is easy to clean and no residue in my coffee, what more could you want.

No more paper filters .

I bought this to go with my Kuissential porcelain coffee Dripper . I do not have to buy paper filters any more, even though it is not an exact match it works well and I do not have to worry about grounds in my coffee with paper filters . I would recommend this as a replacement for paper cone filters .

size 2 Finum Coffee filter works perfectly

The size 2 Finum Coffee filter works perfectly as an alternative to the #2 paper filters. There is minimal sediment in the coffee, but it doesn't bother me.

Never need to buy paper filters again

Very fine particles get through the filter and settle on the bottom of the cup, but it's worth it to never have to buy filters again.

Works well with my Melitta single cup coffee maker

[[ASIN:B001794Q0S Melitta Ready Set Joe/Mug 64010 Coffee Makers Speciality] I don't have to buy any paper filters, this works great. I've discovered it's better to slowly pour in the hot water in small increments otherwise it splashes the coffee grounds causing waste. If you go slowly, it keeps the grounds in place at the bottom of the filter.

Doesn't work well with Melitta Single Cup Coffee Brewer

This filter doesn't quite fit a Melitta Single Cup Coffee Brewer. I've used a Melitta Brewer for many years and find it produces some of the best coffee but I have been seeking an alternative to the paper filters. Unfortunately, this filter doesn't rest against the side of the brewing cone and so water percolates much too quickly through the brewer. It will work but don't expect the same results you may have experienced with paper filters.

Could be better

On finely ground coffee lets quite a bit of ground grains through. The paper filters let nothing through. Medium grounds is better. Hope this helps.

The Finest Permanent Filter for Coffee

A permanent filter is always better than paper filter because it won't absorb the coffee oil, so you can make a cup of coffee that is more tasty and smooth. This is a very fine coffee filter. Very little residual or sludge is able to get through. Depending on the type of grinder and dripper you use, make sure you adjust the coffee ground size to get the right running speed because this filter is running slower and extraction may go over a little. I am using a Bodum Bistro conical burr and Bonavita dripper. The setting on the grinder needs no change at all - set at the middle for drip coffee. With a Melita Ready Set Joe, it is running a bit slower, so the grinder setting on the Bodum Bistro is half a stop more coarse from the middle setting for drip coffee.
