Great Filter Except
These are great filters except I have had the threads in the end split over time and start leaking. I put hose clamps around the ends and have never had any more problems. Might save you from having a flooded kitchen.

Great value
I bought this to replace the exact same filter that I had installed a few years ago. Easy to install/replace and I like its extended life. A good investment!

Compatible with soft water.
Bought this to replace 2 filters we had, 1 going to the refrigerator for an ice maker and 1 going to a drinking water spout. Just used a tee and it filters both with no drop in pressure. Previously we had hollow ice cubes bc of a drop in pressure I suppose. We just installed a water softener, so I was searching for weeks for a filter compatible with soft water, this one is. The product description doesn't mention it and the company never responded to my emails or calls, but by doing my own research and comparing it to other filters that are compatible with soft water (and alot more expensive) I concluded that the filtering material is the same as the expensive ones and therefore would be fine to use with soft water. Also, after all of my research, I found out that my parents have this same filter, and soft water, and I love how their water tastes. That was what finally sold me on this filter. Once you flush the black particles out of the filter it will still look cloudy. Don't be alarmed, it is just air and will dissipate in about a week. Again, the company was no help in this matter. I kept dumping out my cloudy glass of water and letting it run for 10 seconds or so, waste of water. After contacting the company to no avail, I looked on here at the questions and someone answered that it was just air and it would go away in a couple weeks. I think I included all of the important info that I searched for for weeks. If I could've only read a review like this one, my research would have been minimal. The water tastes great, is crystal clear, and the ice cubes are fully formed!

LASTS A LIFETIME! LITERALLY! (Read my math)
Terrific filter for your ice maker in your fridge and it lasts literally a lifetime. Here's the math: Normal half-crescent shaped cubes produced by your refrigerator use about 4 ounces of water per 7 cubes (according to GE). There's 128 ounces in a gallon. Which means, this filter can produce 4.5 million half-crescent cubes of ice! Even if you were using 50 cubes of ice every single day 365 (which is way more than most use), that would only be 18,250 ice cubes per year, which uses 82 gallons of water (224 cubes per gallon x 82 gallons = 18,368). So, by my math, this 20,000 gallon filter will last for TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO YEARS of just producing ice. lololololololol You could use 10x that amount -- 500 ice cubes per day, every day, 365 -- and this filter would still last over TWENTY YEARS! Given it takes the normal refrigerator ice maker 10 minutes to produce 1 cube of ice, that means even running full-time it can only produce 144 cubes per day. So even if you were using every single cube your ice maker was producing as it was making it, this filter would still last for SEVENTY YEARS. lololololcats

Using the Watts In line 20,000 Ice Maker Filter as Under Counter Drinking Water Filter
I purchased a WATTS 20,000 gallon inline water filter to act as a third stage polishing filter on a two stage filter I had installed earlier. The first two stages removed about 95% of the sediment, chlorine and other contaminants from a city water supply. I wanted my filter to produce tasteless water from my sink faucet. I am very pleased with result. I had to do some connection modification in order for this filter to work with the existing cold water line which fed the first two stages of my filter. I was left with a problem of converting the Watts filter connections size from ¼ inch female compression fitting to 3/8 inch male compression fitting. My outlet from my existing two-stage filter had a braided hose with 3/8 inch female compression fitting and my inlet to my kitchen sink cold water faucet had the same connection. If the Watts Filter would have had 3/8” male compression fittings it would have only required installing those fittings in the filter and attaching the inlet and outlet braided hose to the respective ports on the filter. But that was not the case. I bought two Lasko adapters (part # 17-6759 ¼”fe comp x 3/8” comp) from ¼ inch female compression fitting to 3/8 inch vinyl tubing, fitting to be installed on the inlet and outlet of the filter Since I needed a male 3/8 inch fitting I unscrewed and removed the (nut with compression sleeve) fitting that was supplied with the adapter leaving the 3/8 inch male composition thread which I threaded into the 3/8 inch female compression fitting on my braided cold water supply line. I repeated the process with the outlet of the filter. Before connecting the outlet to my kitchen faucet connection I flushed the filter for about 4-5 minutes. After the flush I connected the outlet fitting from the filter to the kitchen faucet line. I turned on the water to the filter and checked for leaks. Everything looked good. All this took less than 20 minutes. BINGO tasteless water from my kitchen faucet and the flow rate was very good. I would highly recommend this filter initially and time will tell how the filter lives up to it’s 20,000 gallon life claim. Considering it is acting as a polishing filter it should last the entire five years or longer. I would have given it 5 stars if it had offered the 3/8" fitting option

Works good, ice taste changed
Ice now feels practically tasteless, as supposed to (my tap water is a bit over chlorinated). It however gave me a couple of trays of slightly black ice at the very beginning, that seems to be normal with the very first run of the charcoal filters.

Works well
I have this hooked up inline with the icemaker water supply to my fridge on the main floor. It was easy to attach and the ice is clearer and there is no taste of chorine
