A really great product

Have used this waterer for about 8 months and it is great. Kept the water unfrozen all winter here in northern Indiana. Our two-month old chickens learned how to drink from it in just a few minutes. I just bent down and clicked the nipple with my finger and they came over and started pecking at it and drinking. Bought another one recently for our 2nd chicken family. Nice and sturdy, easy to clean and fill. Three birds can drink at the same time which is nice.

The best heated drinker I’ve ever seen! Well worth the cost!!!

This remarkable drinker eliminated the problem of a dirty water bowl that needed to be cleaned several times a day in freezing weather. (This was due to wild birds invading my chicken yard and for some reason they all had to poop in the heated dog bowl I was using.). My 11 chickens, who had been raised on vertical nipples, figured out the horizontals on this new drinker right away. (Which I now see are truly superior to the verticals). They actually seem to enjoy drinking out it. I had removed the dog bowl to force them to use the new drinker, and when I brought it back as an experiment, see photo, most of them still preferred this new drinker. I feel confident leaving it as the only drinker now. We’ve had temps down to 23º F so far, and no issues with freezing. When it gets colder here, which it will, I’ll update this review. Btw, I plan to use it all year. I really love it!

Great in cold MT!

While it took quite a while for my chickens to figure out how to use, it has been so helpful in zone 4 winters where we regularly dip below 0 in Temps. Hopefully it will last a couple seasons at least.

Best I have found

I have used other heated water ears, and they were a pain in the neck. This is easy to use, and works very well. I now have three of them, and the older ones still work after several years. I do find that dirt gets in somehow, and detaching them to clean now and then is a minor inconvenience, but I have the cord wound through the pen to outside - if the plug was inside it would be pretty easy. The design might work better if it wasn’t round, as sometimes one nipple ends up in the back where the hens can’t get at it. But, all in all, a very good product. A must for me in the winter.

Quail can use it too not just chickens.

I got this for providing water to my quail in the winter. For me it is just the right size to fit in their inclosed coop. The quail had no problems getting water despite them being mutch smaller than chickens. My quail are messy drinkers so their is a little build up of ice under the nipples and no signs it is leaking. When it comes to filling it it is extremely easy and it holds enough water to last a few days if necessary due to a bad snow storm. It is ironic that they say don't use an extension cord, but most of us do just that. I have 29 quail and they had no problems getting use to the three nipples. I do recommend this product on the basis of the many reviews I have read that were positive and at this time my 1 month of use. I and my quail are very happy that the heater is keeping the water liquid even in the single digits and negative wind chill. All my quail are healthy and happy. Long Live the Heated Waterer!!

Life saver

This is going strong for my flock. We had an arctic freeze and this waterer came through for us. The nipples didn’t freeze and neither did the water. The reviews had me nervous but 2 months in and still working beautifully. Will update if it changes but no matter what, this has been a great purchase to keep the feather kiddos hydrated and saves me from having to go out to the coop every 2 hours in the cold
