Perfection!
I ADORE this flashlight. I have a thing for brass objects and also a thing for “funsize” tools/gadgets. I saw this and though i never in my life imagined i’d be dropping $40 on a flashlight the size of my finger, i knew i had to have it. When it arrived it was even smaller than i thought but that has turned out to be my favorite part about it. I have small hands and as a female, woefully small pockets, but this light is the perfect size to fit in even the smallest pockets. This light is my EDC and i use it heavily at work in a bar and also at home bc my apartment gets very little natural light. This light is always by my side. I opted for the Nichia model and have loved the warmer light, its especially useful when viewing crystals, minerals or other things when its important the color doesnt get washed out by cooler light. I’ve tracked my battery consumption since i bought it 6 months ago and depending on the brand, i average about 1 battery every two weeks and that is with heavy every day use. When the battery is nearly dead, the light will not be able to access the high mode, and from there you have a few minutes of light time before u need to change the battery. i think that is a nice, subtle warning rather than the light just suddenly dying. Its seems extremely durable. I dont manhandle it but it has survived 6 months either squished in my pocket or thrown in a bag with various crystals, pens, and keys. Its been sprayed with sanitizer, dropped in the sand and used in the elements and nothing seems to phase it. Rad little light. The only thing im kinda bummed about is the clip. When i got it, it was brass looking like the rest of the flashlight but now it seems like its turning silver- but honestly i only bring that up bc i can find nothing else bad to say about this light. I would buy it again and i would definitely recommend it especially if you are into brass edc. Edit: last pic is a freshly cleaned light. Its amazing how much it had patina-ed since i bought it.

What a gem.
I chose the copper version with the 219C emitter and could not be more pleased. It's a gorgeous flashlight that produces a beautiful beam of light. As described, mode sequence is L-M-H and flashlight always starts on low (my favorite). Low is set a little higher than I normally like, but the Nichia is so easy on the eyes that it doesn't matter. Activating this light even in complete darkness is very pleasant, never feels like it's cutting through your eyes. Also, nice spacing between modes. This is very similar to the Tool AAA, but three important differences: 1. Flashlight starts on low, not medium. 2. Electronic switch, not mechanical. 3. Flat tailcap (can stand upright and be used in candle mode). In reading the other reviews, it seems that most of the negative feedback comes from people unaware that this flashlight needs to be left alone for about the first 20 minutes after installing a battery for the first time. Capacitors need to charge. This is an inconvenience that only needs to be suffered once (but maybe also if flashlight is stored for long time without battery?) Open package, install your battery, and then fix yourself a nice cup of tea. When you're done with your tea, flashlight will be ready for you. Works great with rechargeable NiMH batteries. I tested once with alkaline batteries and it also worked fine, but that's probably the only time I'll ever risk this flashlight to a potentially leaky battery. Pictures: 1: Much older Tool AAA on left with patina, New Drop AAA on right. For those curious, parts are interchangeable. Mode sequence follows the head (where the driver is located). I'm actually considering purchasing the cheaper aluminum version of the Drop AAA Nichia just to swap drivers with my copper Tool so that it works the same way. 2. As mentioned, Drop AAA has a flat tailcap and can act as a candle with a diffuser (not included with purchase, but easily found).

Impressive light, impressive quality, impressive overall
This is a AAA flashlight that isn't much bigger than an AA battery! The flashlight came shrink wrapped, in a reusable plastic case, then inside a heavy Mylar airtight bag...there was even a tiny square of material keeping the pocket clip from touching the body of the light. There was also a split ring and extra O-ring seals. N.B.--> Read the instructions!! You have to let the on-board capacitor charge for a few minutes before the light will light. Push button tail switch starts on Low, then Medium, then High. For a pocket light I like the start-on-low because it's not overly jarring to your night vision. The high setting is amazingly bright for a one cell AAA battery and it lit up a 10'X12' room. Overall a really impressive purchase!

Liked it so much i went and ordered a second rite away.
Ill start by saying ive got a thing for small AAA lights with a moderate output. I order a lot through mecarmy and countycomm. This light is similar to some models on those sites but it has a tail cap switch instead of a twist on/off which is pretty nifty. the brightness is fair at around 4-20-80 lumens. (ive ordered the nichia led model for a softer natural light) it appears well built and i suspect it will last some time. it will be put to good use as im often in need of a small light when setting up the barfeeder at work or just digging through tight spaces. i would absolutely reccomend if youve got $40 dollars to burn and want a decent light in your pocket. there may be better options for your task but this one fills many day to day tasks.

Great light, needs better UI
Nice beam, perfect high, medium, low modes. Can candle stand! However the UI needs to remember the last mode used. If you want medium or high mode you need to cycle through to them EVERY time as it always turns on in low mode which is not as useful as the other modes. The pocket clip would be better if it was the type that was held in place by screwing the tail cap over it. I prefer it without the clip, though. I would gladly purchase another if they would update the UI. This light is beautiful and puts 4Sevens to shame.

Interesante

Lovely, but be prepared
Great little flashlight. Perfect size to keep with you. Don’t be alarmed if when you first put batteries in it takes a minute before it will turn on. The included instructions do mention this, but it can still be worrying if you think it will only be a couple of seconds. Mine took almost a minute to charge up, but now works perfectly.

Unexceptional
First impression - way overpriced. I've owned a few lights in my time. Compared side by side with a light from the competition, this light is twice the price & half as bright. Instructions might as well have not been included. The only thing that sets this light apart from others is the copper body. Otherwise it's sub-par.

This thing is a tiny beast!
The only thing that took getting used to is the switch. Also, I was under the impression based of a Reddit post that the end cap was magnetic. In retrospect I’m happy it isn’t. Great edc flashlight for when you need to see something in the dark. I use an Amazon basics rechargeable AAA battery which lasts a long time! Love this flashlight. So much so I bought several for gifts.
