Damaged packaging but ok
When I received this package, there were holes in the box that should have rendered it unable to be mailed. I thought possibly some of the pieces to put the item together would have fallen out. After opening the box and putting The unit together, nothing was missing. It was pretty easy to put together and was exactly as advertised. It looks to be sturdy and has a decent look. I feel much better now!

Easy to assemble? Ha!
Instructions really stink. It took me four or five hours to put together. The tilt top is scary. It does not tighten well enough to trust it with something heavy on the edge (which is where a sick person would put their plate or drink). There is a rod that isn't anywhere in the instructions on where to put it to make it adjust up/down. I just figured that part out. My suggestion? Don't buy the tilt one. I really wanted the rim around it to keep spills off my sister.

Extends further over the bed than others, easy to raise, lower and tilt
I wanted a bed table to put my laptop on for watching movies in bed - the laptop resting on my actual lap for a movie was a big pain, and would get hot, and after a while you're stuck in that position and it gets very uncomfortable. I was going to just spring for the first overbed table I found but I am very glad I did my research first and went with this one which extends further over the bed than others. Now that I'm using this I learned that you have to lay all the way at the end of your bed to be lined up under this to watch your movie (or whatever you're doing on the table) - so I can't imagine how awkward and unsatisfactory those other overbed tables would be that extend much less over the bed - you would not be able to get your laptop screen lined up straight in front of your face, you'd be watching it at an angle etc. But if you hadn't tried this one first, you wouldn't know any better so I'm sure you would just live with it. I think I'd have been annoyed with the shorter extension of the others though. OK let me just acknowledge, it's a hospital table, it is not pretty or sophisticated or going to match your decor. I'd seen some others that were like nice furniture with stained wood etc. - but they didn't extend very far over the bed, so I went with this more industrial looking table. However, you really don't see much of the metal post, and the wood laminate surface isn't that bad. The whole thing is actually unobtrusive - the bottom hides under the bed and the top is somewhat covered by whatever you have on it, so my fears of it being an eyesore and looking out of place and junking up my room were not confirmed. The bottom line, it extends further over the bed than any others I saw which is paramount if you want to be comfortable. The raising and lowering mechanism is very smooth and easy - some sort of spring loaded mechanism makes it easy to do even if you're laying flat in the bed and there are lots of things on the desk. And the tilt mechanism is also easy and smooth - which is really pretty important if you want to be able to type on the laptop (if you're using one) or just to get it at a good watching angle. I used sticky velcro to attach a small basket so I can keep some night-stand items on the desk and they won't roll off when I tilt it. My laptop video viewing experience on this table/night stand/laptop stand is vastly improved over what it was before!

Table Looks Great, but Assembly Sucks
I read all the reviews and debated over which overbed table to buy. I finally decided on this one. Outside packaging was a little flimsy, but the inner box seemed to be fine. When hubby started unpacking, a metal rod fell on the floor. One of the parts, we figured. Well, the instructions were AWFUL. We managed to figure out how to put on the top and the main rod onto the bottom rail, but what to do with the weird looking black plastic piece? And what are those extra screws for? And where does the metal rod go? We tried everything...even went to the manufacturer's website to see if there were more detailed instructions. No such luck. We finally jerry-rigged it so it would work for our purposes, but wow...why can't this company write step by step instructions and include ALL THE PARTS IN THEIR INSTRUCTIONS? I would not recommend this or any other item from this company.

Recommend, but not on wood or laminate floors
This review of Medical Tilt Top Overbed Table is based on use for a bed-bound-critically-ill patient at home. Table is also used by caregivers and nurses to hold equipment and supplies at the bedside while they work on patient. Question: Is the Drive Medical Tilt Top Overbed Table good quality? Answer: For the price, it is a good deal. Sturdy, functional, and good work horse. Used only by caregivers and nurses attending to patient. Every day caregivers have two 3-gal. tubs of warm water on the table in addition to grooming products. Table is stable and handles the load, well. Question: Is table mechanically sound? Answer: Yes. Recommend, however, you invest in better quality wheels. The caster wheels on product are inferior hard plastic, so, if you have hard-wood floors, and or, laminate floors, definitely purchase a better set of quality wheels. I purchased a set with the rubber like surface to protect our floors. The price was less then $30 for the four wheels and quick and easy installation. Given the moving mechanism to lock/unlock the wheels on Drive's table are plastic, the buyer of this product will eventually have to replace the wheels. Question: Does table have lip to keep items from rolling off table? Answer: Yes, however, it is not sufficient. Pens, pencils, pills, will go to the floor when table is tilted. Question: Does table tilt to use for writing and is tilt easy to achieve? Answer: Yes. Table allows for user to tilt at whatever angle you want. Question: Does table have design flaw? Answer: Yes. Nothing can be done on your part to correct this design error. The table is not horizontally even, but I would not say it is a deal breaker.

It's good.
This is a great bed side table. It's great that it tilts, and as long as you tighten it really well it holds up fairly well, however, if you rest on it, it will tilt forward. I wish it had better tilt locking and could be brought down a bit lower. The wheels are stiff plastic, so it would be nice if they were made with better mobility, but hey, it's light and can be pulled across the floor alright. Otherwise, this is a fantastic little table!

Assembly support may be needed
This adjustable table arrived rattling in its box. Turned out a pre-assembled part had come loose and I didn't realize how it would fit until I'd fully assembled it. Heeding warnings not to mess with an identified screw for fear of breaking the spring, I sought other help. The instructions told me to seek help with dealers, but the three I called were of no help. I finally went to the Canadian headquarters in Brampton. Customer service went to voicemail and a week later there was no callback. I tried again with Technical support and finally got someone who could assist me. It's an okay table, but does have more of a hospital look than the residential look I was after.

nice...works good
The table was easy to put together but it doesn't have a lip to catch things from falling when tilted so I got a Styrofoam pipe plumbing cover and used gorilla tape to stick it on the table so now have a lip.

Excellent table. Works good
Excellent table. Works good, I'm a heavy dude and I can rest my forearms comfortably on this table, it doesn't budge. I don't expect it to. I use it primarily to sit in an armchair and type on my laptop with it. Only beef I have is when you want to roll it from one room to the next, if you have to go over a little raised strip of hardwood or whatever on the floor, any little raised strip of flooring that divides rooms, you have to lift it by the "vertical arm." If you try raising it from the table, the table will adjust upwards. Meaning the level of the table raises. It's a minor concern though, overall excellent!

Great table, has been in heavy use ever since ...
Great table, has been in heavy use ever since purchase. Only caveat: when assembling, the tension bar (that allows the table to slide up and down) slide out of its spot. Getting it back in was a giant pain in the ass, because it happened after partial assembly, and I didn't realize that the easiest way was to fully disassemble the device. Also, the instructions are not particularly clear, so go slowly and carefully, and think about the alignment of the various pieces as you screw things together. Quality is great once you get it together!
